Pryor earns MVP

I read today that Pryor is going to visit LSU. (God forbid).

Dear God,
Where did you read that ?

I thought last week it was determined that he had narrowed it down to OSU and U of M

He really should go to Oregon, so they can continue running the Offense they run out there, seeing Dixon is gone this year.

It was in yesterday's Detroit Free Press (Freep.com). The article has a quote from Pryor about Florida also being in the mix. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I'd rather see him go to Ohio St. before the SEC. I still think Michigan's chances are solid, because Coach Rodriguez's offense would suit his talents best.

Why would he go to Florida to sit behind Tebow and the other guy they have ready to run there 2 QB system ?

Pryor changes plans

Jeannette star quarterback Terrelle Pryor has changed his plans for a college visit this weekend, added another school to his list of finalists and refuted a KDKA television report that he will make an official visit to Pitt.

"As of right now, I have no visit planned to Pitt," Pryor said. "Even if I would visit there, I'm not going to Pitt. I keep saying that. I'm not looking at Pitt at all."

Pryor had originally said he would visit Penn State this weekend and Michigan the first weekend in February. But he will not visit Penn State at all and will make a trip to Michigan this weekend. "I've been up to Penn State so many times, there is nothing new for me to see there," Pryor said.

The newest team among Pryor's finalists is LSU. He said he hopes to go to LSU and Oregon in the two weeks after the Michigan visit. Pryor had not listed LSU among his finalists before. "I had been talking to their coaches for a while, so I'll give them a visit and see what it's like," Pryor said.

He said his finalists are Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Oregon and Penn State.

I am telling you right now, the school that will let him play BOTH basketball and football...is the school that will win his service. IF any school come up to him and tells him that he can only play one....I REALLY doubt they will have his services.

Pryor says that playing basketball in college is "looking less likely". Rumors say that he has canceled his official visit to LSU.

Well, then I guess it's back to OSU and UM ....

I'd rather he go to UM than LSU

Then theres the question as to just how good he really is ...

Personally if I were him and liked the spread offense that much, I would seriously consider Oregon.

Then again, how many Spread Option QB's do you see playing in the NFL .... 1 maybe 2 (as a QB)

Jimbo

I think that will change in time. The spread offense is popping up everywhere in college, and sooner or later it will get to the NFL.
Parts of the spread are already run in the NFL, I doubt you'll ever see a team go 100 % spread in the Pro's , up there everyone is FAST, it would die like the run and shoot.

We know all about the run and shoot in Detroit, don't we? June Jones didn't last here too long, did he? Neither did Martz, and his 21st century version. You are probably right about the spread. Nobody wants to risk their "franchise" QB getting hurt running the ball. On the other hand, it was always exciting watching Vick tuck in the ball. Running QB's are very hard to defend. We here in Michigan, know that all too well.

I heard a report today stating that Pryor has officially narrowed his choices down to OSU and UM.

Looks like he's having fun with the hype. Hope he lives up to it. :)

Me too.

It wouldn't surprise me if Pete Carroll made a trip to see Pryor before the NS date, they don't run the spread but if he wants to go to the next level , he'lll have to do more than run the spread.

Ohio State will not be running the spread, at least entirely, everyone runs a bit of it.

I've thought long and hard about this, and I think his choice will come down to how soon he can play, and Michigan is the only place where he could start right now. I can't see Tressel handing over a potential BCS championship team to an inexperienced QB. Michigan is bringing in a true spread offense, which will be new to the program, so a freshman QB taking his lumps along with the rest of the team is no big deal. Besides Kirk Herbstreet at ESPN says Michigan will only win 6 games this season anyhow. So it comes down to riding the pine in the BCS championship game, or playing right now. Advantage - MICHIGAN.

I've heard that they would use him like Florida did with Tebow early on. Letting him run a few series a half.

One of Pryor's coaches thinks he is leaning to OSU. Meanwhile , Michigan is recruiting a couple of multi-threat QB's from Florida, one whose name is Daniels. Don't know much about him, maybe somebody from Fla. could clue me in. All I know is that he is rated #8 as a multi-threat QB. Pryor is scheduled for an official visit with Penn St., and possibly Oregon.

Last I heard/read Prior cancelled the Oregon trip, not enough time they said, that tells me he wasn't really interested in the first place.
I believe he has a trip to Michgan this weekend, maybe it was last w/e but I think it's this w/e.
He said he wasn't going to visit Penn State because he's seem it over the years.
I think I heard that JoPa is making a visit to him though.

Here's from the Toledo newspaper about the OSU/ UM and Prior today
toledoblade.com -- UM, OSU hope for Pryor commitment
