Pictures of 1000.2 Dish

I am in south central PA. They slapped a D1000 up with my 6222 upgrade. I have a weak (80%) signal on 129. I wonder if I complain... If they will replace my 1000??

I would like to know myself. Did you use the same directions for skew and elevation for the old dish 1000? Those are damn good readings. I hope I can achieve the same when mine comes in from the dishstore.

The installer setup everything for the skew and elevation, I just fine tuned it after he left. By the way, it was mounted on an older Dish 500 Mast, so that seems to be working out fine.

Also, I am located right in the middle of Georgia, just south of Macon.

Cool I am in the Beaumont, Pt. Arthur ,Tx area so I should see similar readings. By the way How did you fine tune the dish? Did you try peaking on the 119 or did you reaim using the 129 slot? I just bought one from the dishstore too and I will be installing it in mplace of my dish 1000 next week when it comes in.

Where did the installer get the "skew", "Elevation" and "Azimuth" numbers from based on your zip code?. I notice my current receivers have that information for a dish 500, 300 or super dish only.

I peaked mine using first 119. Then from there I made slight changes till I got 129 to go as high as I could. I ended up with 119 being up in the 100's and 110 being in the upper 90's low 100's.

One last question. Do you see that the 129 sat is still rising up and down on the signal strenths? Does your picture on the 129 sat pixelate or freeze with the new Dish 1000.2? Do to the wobbly satellite up there for 129 this has consistently been a problem and I wondered if this would be corrected with the new dish 1000.2?

I haven't really monitored the signal strength that closely, so I have not seen it rising up and down. But, i will say...since I realigned it, I get very few pixelations (maybe one a week) and no freezes. So, it seems to help with the new dish.

THanks for all the information. It looks good for my dish to get here on 2/14/07 so by the next day I will get it installed ,weather permitting.

Here are some signal levels for everyone to look at with the Dish 1000.2. Now, I don't know if these are as high as they could be because it is extremely overcast and nasty looking here. But here are the signals for 129 and a few random ones for 119 and 110.

I just got my dish 1000.2 today. I installed it myself and I had a little trouble peaking it with aluminum foil over the other two lnbs : 110/129 , but I got it . Took a couple of hours. Here are my strengths on the same transponders as above. I am in Southeast TExas -Beaumont/Pt. Arthur-90 miles from Houston.

I also had a 61.5 sat and I hooked it into the triple lnb and now get 4 satellites in my check switch. I get 90s and 100s and greater using a dish 500 , a single dual lnb centered in the middle of the dish. *** THe best part of all this is that the receiver will default to 61.5 for all hd channels instead of 129 so I get the best of both . Stronger signals on all satellites and better signals for 129 and if Dish ever gets the RSNs up in hd I will be ready for my area. I can easily move as well to any HD city on 61.5 or 129 satellites since they are all conus beam.

I am in hog heaven right now. The best $99.00 I have spent in a long time.:D

why HD DVR still costs $200 ?
