Pictures of 1000.2 Dish

My 622 install (Chicago) was yesterday. As for LNB's they gave me a DPP twin and an additional single DP lnb. The install sheet actually said 1000.2 but the LNB's make me second guess if thats what I got.

Is there a way I can tell if I got a 1000.2 dish besides measuring it? I will also post some signal strengths for 129 when I get a chance.

The easiest way to tell is to see if you have a solid LNB for all three satellites. If you have a double lnb and then a single, you do not have the 1000.2. See the picture below for the correct lnb on a 1000.2

If thats the case I got hosed, the installer sheet said 1000.2, but he only put up a 1000.

Unless if for some reason they gave you the Dish 1000.2 dish, with the older style lnbs. If that is the case, the only way to tell is to actually get up there and measure the dish. But that doesn't make any sense whey they would do that.

I'd dare say "hosed" is an extreme description, wouldn't you say? In the midwest and great lake areas I seriously doubt you'll see much of a reception difference between the two. The main advantage a 1000.2 affords is that it makes it easier on the installer. The LNB is DPP versus DP. Hence, no need for a DP34 and dual-cable runs to a dual-tuner.

Heres a pic of my Dish, NOT a 1000.2

I was checking signal strength from 129 and most TP's were over 80, some over 90. I guess I will be fine with just the 1000. They did put it on the same mount my 500 was on though.

Here are the dimensions of the 1000.2:
W 25.9"
H 20.7"
As opposed to the 1000:
W 23.5"
H 18.5"
Just for the sake of completeness, I just measured the Dish 1000 Plus that I'm assembling today to improve my signal strengths. Its dimensions:

W 30.5"
H 23.5"

Ye Gads! This thing is huge - what a monster! Hopefully this'll improve my signals considerably - I'm setting it up with 110, 118.7, 119, and 129.

Cheers!

Here are some signal levels for everyone to look at with the Dish 1000.2. Now, I don't know if these are as high as they could be because it is extremely overcast and nasty looking here. But here are the signals for 129 and a few random ones for 119 and 110.
