Okay, but assuming Lifetime is a no for good, do you think us lowly 60's will get anything to replace it?

I really wouldn't worry about it, Lifetime(the main channel, 108) will be back most likely before the end of the month. I'd bet my house on it, the local satellite shops are still running Dish ads with the Lifetime logo in the Top 60 package. LMN may be gone for good though, who knows. Lifetime will probably force Charlie to take both though, depends on how much Lifetime is hurting.

Yeah, you'll get the piece of mind of being able to sleep peacefully without worrying that your wife is gonna take a Louisville Slugger to your head while you sleep.

If she watches Lifetime enough she'll get the message that all sex between a man and a woman, even when married, is rape.

Why wouldn't she want to do this to him? Us men are all worthless, abusive, scum anyway.

I told my wife we should get an XTV box to replace Lifetime
Then she can learn how to abuse you with whips and chains:D

Now, these are REAL men.

If the worthless scum pigs wouldn't have abused their goddess wives in the first place, this would have never have happened. They must be Dish customers and not had access to Lifetime's "life saving information" due to Charlie.

OXYGEN is NOT Lifetime for sure--if they will carry Unsolved Mysteries (only the most watched TV show ever when it was running live!) I have no intention of watching Oxygen and will just have to revert to Direct TV or C-Band!

We had Oxygen when we had Direct TV,
It is no where close to Lifetime. According to my wife, everyone is missing the point.
THey she can live with out Lifetime, its the Lifetime movie channel that can not be replaced. Its like they took away HBO and Starz, "how would all the guys like that?"
She never watched Oxygen when we had it anyway. I watched Dr. Sue, that was a good "Dr Ruth type of show" I could not believe they allowed that on talk on TV-wow.

My wife's position also. It is the Lifetime movie channel that she misses most. Chick flicks, 24/7.

As to Oxygen, it is the channel founded, funded, and produced by the extreme femi-Nazis. Rush Limbaugh goes into gales of laughter every time he gets to read a press item about how Oxygen has failed to attract an audience and how they are in danger of going belly up economically. Fortunately for us men, Oxygen speaks to a very small fraction of American women.

Seeing how Lifetime is still on the EPG then there is still hope. LMN that is another story although WE is in two different locations.

For a Lifetime replacement to not go to the package that Liftetime was not at, would it really be considered a Lifetime replacement?

Sounds like the guys are enjoying the new channel more than the gals. Or maybe they wanted to give the men a reason to want this channel for a win win situation.

EchoStar adds Oxygen Media to Dish Network

EchoStar Communications Corp. has added Oxygen Media, the nation's only woman-owned and -operated TV network, to its Dish Network satellite TV programming lineup.

Oxygen and Dish Network entered into a multiyear agreement and will provide 12 million Dish Network viewers with a free preview of Oxygen immediately.

DishNetwork's contract with Lifetime Television ended Dec. 31 and the two haven't negotiated a new contract. Dish Network said Lifetime has asked for a 70 percent rate increase.

Englewood-based EchoStar trades on the NASDAQ under the symbol DISH.

With this agreement, Oxygen now reaches a total of 65 million homes. The network has enjoyed double-digit ratings growth and has the second-highest concentration of women 18-49 on cable and satellite television.

Oxygen airs a diverse array of original series, including "Oprah After the Show"; "Snapped," a true crime series that explores the minds and motives of women who kill; "Girls Behaving Badly," a hidden-camera prank show with an all-female cast; and Oxygen Original Movies.

Heres the note I got from Echostar this morning concerning lifetime...

Team,

Good morning! As of 6:55 this morning Engineering successfully launched Oxygen on channel 127. All communications (CSR, IVR, crawl, fairsatellite.com and RS alerts) have been updated to reflect this change. We are not utilizing wording that Oxygen is replacing LMN.

As far as im concerned, lifetime, compaired to Extasy is a porn channel for Women. The only thing its not really a porn channel, so Dish is allowed to bundel this crap in their basic packages.

I have a feeling that Dish just replaced lifetime movie network, considering its no longer listed in the EPG. I feel they got a deal for lifetime, just not lifetime movie network!

i dont feel like they will bring back lifetime, i just get this sinking feeling that its over and lifetime is gone forever.

Maybe. The EPG for 108 changed from LIFE to WE.

One more Nail in the coffin of Lifetime hoping to get back on Dish.
Looks like if Dishnetwork can't get lifetime for next to nothing now it will not return.

I would LOVE to see Lifetime resort to having to PAY Dish for carriage (as opposed to the other way around)

Serves em right

Does signal strength equate to picture quality?
