Just got a 722 receiver. Living in Louisville, Ky we're limited to OTA HD which I hooked up.

Am I correct as far as OTA channels are concerned, if you are currently recording an OTA channel, you can not watch another OTA channel? If you are currently watching an OTA show that was previously recorded, however, can you record another OTA channel at the same time?

Thanks,
John

Yes. It has ONE OTA tuner, which means if its recording then your stuck on that channel.

You can watch recorded programs at any time with affecting what the dvr is trying to do.

Yes, that's correct--I recommend that you split the incoming OTA cable and have it run to the back of the 722 and your TV (if your set has an OTA tuner). It's very nice to be able to watch a live program while recording another.

That is also a very good idea. I do it by habit.

That's a great idea, thanks. :)

Just got a HD flat screen.....new receiver........and what's the first thing the wife wants to do.......watch one HD local while recording another HD local. The next thing she'll want to do is record 2 HD locals at the same time. Oh well. Maybe we'll get SAT HD locals before I die.

Thanks to everyone,
John
