I did not think it was supposed to work with an OTA network channel, but it did with the Fox Fringe finale recorded last night on channel 59-01. Maybe I missed something.
But now I have no real reason to use my ota channels for prime time shows, since the hopper takes care of it all on one tuner.
Better PQ?
Yeap, odds are it simply matches by episode #, program name, etc -- things that are common between satellite-delivered shows and OTA shows.Maybe it matches the Guide OTA or satellite with the channel for the Hop information, so that it would then work on the OTA channels. Just a WAG.
Haven't looked into Autohop since I don't use PTAT. Should it work on other recordings? If so, how do I set it up?
We have PTAT re-enabled again and I also recorded The Simpsons off of the antenna last night. I'll see tonight if it "hops" or not.I did not think it was supposed to work with an OTA network channel, but it did with the Fox Fringe finale recorded last night on channel 59-01. Maybe I missed something.
Why wouldn't they be useful on the few shows you do record?
I'm not certain that AutoHop requires PTAT. I suspect that if one records a program that runs between 8pm and 11pm on the Big 4 networks, that AutoHop will still function. This THREAD is about those same shows, but when recorded off an antenna.I do not use PTAT. From an earlier post, AH is supposed to only work with PTAT.
On our 2 Hoppers, we have only 2 shows from the Big Four Prime Time scheduled for recording. I just checked the dvr and neither of them have the option to activate the AH feature.
Everything I've recorded...about five or 6 shows. Mostly FOX.Consistently ?
