Found out it will be a LONG time till our local channels will be in HD through dish.
I tried to search and didn't find a real answer to my question. What would be the best antenna to get hd channels where i live. I live out in the middle of nowhere in the county.
Here the info for the channels and distanct. I really only care about the 3.1, 15.1, 17.1 hd channels and 55 channel(local fox is on hd, but not listed for some reason). Thanks in advance for any help.

I was at that site, and posted the information in my first post. But after i put in the addy and zip. i get the list of channels, but that's it, i dont see a place to select antenna that will work?

The colors on antenna web.org suggest the strength of an antenna you need. It does not specify an antenna because it is sponsored by many antenna manufacturers.

Antenna manufacturers put this same color coding on their antennas. You match them to your needs.

update. well after i found out about using the last #'s. I went home, had an old trek antenna(that was on an old dish on house). hooked it up in the house, and went to channel 48...perfect...41 perfect as well. just can't get the other channels unless i move around...dont know if i put outside will get more channel or not. so maybe that one at radio shack might work?

Many things can obstruct the signal, putting outside will help. Height usually helps even more if you live in hilly or tree filled areas. And once you have it where you want and pointed in direction best for you, brace and secure the pole as much as possible.

YES!! Perfect HD picture!! and at almost full strength.

I picked up that antenna at Radio shack(wanted to watch bball games tonight, so thought 25 wouldn't be that must lost)...well got home, helped son finish up his pinewood derby car, put the antenna together, just hooked it up in living room, and got EVER SINGLE hd channel in my list...Will put this up on house this weekend once weather breaks

again thanks for all the help and information you gave!!
