Mine was the first install in this areaI'm curious as to the percentage of members here who got a Hopper 3 first timer for an installer. It has to be close to 90%.

Same here. My install was yesterday. Tech said mine was only the 4th from his office. Everything went well.My installer said it was his first.
OK, thanks that is what I was looking . I turned it off--it was on 4 hours....If you go to the settings menu there should be a standby category. This is where you control how long before the Hopper goes into standby with no activity. Assuming that was the case for you. Your wife had the Hopper on but did not press any buttons on the remote for 4 hours so it went to standby due to no user activity. Normally the Hopper will not turn off until you turn it off as long as you are interacting with it.
I think Vivek meant that PTAT doesn't go to trash. Other recordings do.
