No Video on my Edision OS Mio+ 4k

All good reviews on Google Maps, 4.9 out of 5. When I priced the mini from the link above the shipping was almost 15 euros so I wonder if there is an error on this webpage. Euro to USD is almost equal. I’m tempted to order one. Too bad I didn’t know about this when we did a Danube River Cruise about a year ago. It stopped in Bratislava.

That's why I posted the Os Mini upthread. Only difference between it and the older OS Mio, is it doesn't have a terrestrial tuner in it. Which is fine, since the one in the older Mio doesn't work here anyway.
But the Mio+ which I have has two tuners. The Mio has one tuner. All moot points since neither are available anywhere anymore except used. The Mini looks good.

One tuner and VIDEO to your tv set is better than no tuner at all... Just saying.

I've only ever had the older OS MIO, and one tuner doesn't hold me back. Put it in regular STANDBY mode, and you can STREAM multiple channels at the same time, regardless of the transponder. As long as they are all on the satellite you are pointed to. I do that with my CHANNELS dvr, as I set the channels up as streaming .M3U's, with full EPG on Channels.

Yes, one tuner and streaming gives a lot to choose from. Just this week I'm finally getting full use of both tuners by having a Ku-band motor on Tuner A and a C-band motor on Tuner B. Again, combining this with all the streaming I've set up, my Mio+ gets a lot of use.

Yeah. The mio4k+ has two dvb tuners alrightey. But notice the specs? One is crippled. SF8008 has identical ones.
Too bad they never got bilndscan working worth a you-know-what on the Zgemma H7.x And lack of ACM/VCM for the radio channels.
But on a brighter side. If they hold up better than what people are currently reporting. With the next incantation fixing low sr issues.
The SF8008 Supreme looks tasty.

The "improvements" in the Edision receivers may be important in Europe but are not here. Why is 4K necessary when there are no 4K broadcasts? Lower SR rate capable? Not necessary for me. Even DVB-S2X seems unnecessary. I've never seen a viewable broadcast that required this. All I want from a dual-tuner receive is two capable sensitive tuners with blind scans that are fast and accurate.

Yes indeed. I ordered a SF8008 Supreme with dual DVB-S2X inputs to replace the Mio which stopped outputting HDMI. Looking forward to receiving it, but my order is currently stuck due to "Regional Weather Delays" (too much snow). Might have to wait until the snow melts, lol.

... Looking back, I think it was static electricity that killed the HDMI on my Mio. The reason being that it is cold and very dry here, and I had walked across the carpet from my chair to the AV area and plugged in the HDMI cable from the Mio into the TV. I don't remember a static shock, but it might have been too mild to notice.

However, the next day I walked the same route and got a big shock when I touched the metal case of a hard drive. It bricked the hard drive!

Anyway, static electricity has likely killed two devices here recently so I have got to start walking barefoot and/or get something for static discharge.

And did I mention that we need rain here in California?
