NHL Center Ice Renewal...

so I guess it wasnt a dream was it sonnyboy ???? :) :)

I had CI last year so will it be autimatically renewed or do I have to call in again ??

I had it last year too, but they said for some reason I wasn't going to be automatically charged when I called today. I'd call to verify if I were you.

Well, I am happy for all hockey fans, and especially for the CI subscribers! Now I just hope they get NHL network and put it on one of the standard packages! Or even ala cart menu! Anyone have news on this channel yet?

Well, I'm pretty hopped on vicodins from my dentist visit... so there's still a chance I am just dreamin! :D

I am not sure if you will auto-renew or not so you better call and check! They did ask me if I wanted to auto-renew for next season and I said yes.

This is great news, except, now that E* waited till the last minute to get this deal done, their server will probably crash with all of the people signing up at once, or loading up their phone lines....long delays on hold ect.

You overestimate the number of hockey nuts! We are a very select group:D

In the big picture, we are merely a drop in the Dish subscriber ocean...our biggest problem seems to be convincing the CSR's that CI is, in fact, available and getting them to process our orders!!!

Very true. First two reps said it wasn't available. Second was a dick about it, saying he knew what he was doing and he couldn't add it. Third time was the charm.

Sure enough, the third time was the charm. Of course, this time I prefaced my request by saying that I saw on the Web site that Center Ice is available to be ordered. Of course it took about 10 minutes because I was the first person from whom that rep had taken a Center Ice order.

I asked about NHL Network and she didn't know anything about it.

It took me three phone calls to order it and I HOPE they got it right....10 minutes only that was fast...it took me 15 minutes and 20 seconds to do it ...what an ordeal !!!!! First I got the comment you want to order NHL SUPER Ice...no Center Ice......then it was the early bird special was no longer available.......say what ?? lady the website says it ends October 9.......i also told the CSR to check the website. she must have put me on hold at least 10 times while she was checking on things.

I can only hope I ordered Center Ice and not some cricket tournament.

Will the channels show up in the guide if you did not order the package? If not, this is a good way to make sure the CSRs did us right.

I'm just hoping they get Extra Innings next year. If not, I'm off to DirecTV because my commitment period ends in March.

Done! Had to go through a rep as their site wouldn't let me order. She waived the $5 transaction fee (though the site says $1) since I couldn't order online.
I agree that it was an ordeal (can't we get US customer service?) but should be well worth the trouble.

They won't D* signed a long term deal, E* didn't take the deal D* offered so they will have to wait to see if D* offers it to them next year, or till next contract negotiations with MLB.

What makes you think that's any better? Both the clueless reps I talked to were American.

Charlie keeps them all in the dark for some reason. As the first line communication with new and existing customers, one would think that he would make sure CSR's were the first to know about significant Dish news...

What do you guys expect when goat-herding is what they do in their off-time? They probably never seen a puck or even know what hockey is.

i thought i heard a bbbaaaaahhhh in the background -

i called and after about 5 minutes of explaining to her what hockey was she put me on hold and confirmed yes to CI but said they have no word yet on NHL Network.
