NFL 2016-17 Season

Atlanta Falcons? This is going to be one of the lowest rated Super Bowls viewership wise. I don't watch the Falcons & I live in Georgia. This is just one more Falcons' game that I won't be watching. Fox must really be falling on their swords over this one.

I disagree ...
I find it good to have a new team in there, even though my team is one that is always in the hunt.

Atlanta has a high powered offense and their D isn't half bad either seeing what they just did to Green Bay.

If the ratings are low, it may have more to do with no teams involved on the west side of the country.

How do you figure? You have the more than likely MVP (who is still playing out of his mind) vs. the most decorated QB in the Super Bowl era. Two great offenses going against two very underrated defenses. If I was a neutral fan, you better believe I'd be tuning in!

If you were to compare this Super Bowl to if the Cowboys had made it in, or even to a lesser degree the Packers, the ratings to this game won't be that good. More people will be tuning in for Tom Brady & the Patriots than for the Falcons. Your "fair weather" casual fans will surely pass on this one.

I just don't like the Falcons. I watched the Miami Dolphins over them growing up. I'd prefer the Carolina Panthers over them, unfortunately the Falcons are the home team here over the Panthers when it comes to local broadcasting.

Super Bowl ratings have always been relative. Do I think this Super Bowl will shatter a ratings record? Of course not. But at the end of the day, it's still the Super Bowl, and as always, they'll be plenty of eyeballs on this game.

The other mitigating factor is the potential to have a very high scoring (and more importantly close) game. I realize that style of play isn't for everybody, but for the typical novice fan, scoring=excitement=ratings.

Question :
When did the NFL start allowing your team to push your ball carrier forward for yardage ?

You are NOT allowed to do that ...

Of course, no call.

It used to be against the rules. If you look at history and the famous Ice Bowl game, the FB raised his hands to show the refs he didn't assist Starr in scoring. At least, that was the reasons he gave.

It must have been within the last 5-10 years.

Tedy Bruschi is the spokesperson for Massachusetts based insurance company SBLI. In two weeks, Tedy's former team will be playing in SB LI.

Things that make you go hmmmm............ :)

It was cool seeing Teddy present the Lamar Hunt trophy.

That reminds me, does anyone know who presented the George Halas trophy to the Falcons? I had already switched over to the AFC game, and missed the NFC trophy presentation.

This is crazy:

Whats this stupid sh*t that Aikmen is doing ?
Trying to make a "phrase for himself".
Instead of saying the guy gets a sack on the qb ... its "he got home".

What is that ?

Looks like the Pats are gonna pull this one out ....

Missed holding call on the play before the PI to get them to the two was interesting ... the announcers looked at the play again and no one said a word about the defense being held when the runner went by him ... amazing.

Oh well ....
It will be interesting to see Goodell now.

Atlanta's offense dropped the ball in the 2nd half, couldn't move the ball when they had to the most. Caused the D to be on the field for most of the 2nd half making the Pats come back possible.
