NFL 2012-13 Season

I must have missed this before regarding the official's labor issue:

The dispute between the league and the referees’ association stems from proposed structural changes. The NFL wants to make officials, who are now part-time employees, into full-time employees. That would require many referees to give up their current full-time jobs.

The league also wants to add three crews to rotate with the current teams of officials.

A lot of them have prestigious, well paying jobs that they probably don't want to give up....

Yes, that and expanding the number if ref teams so bad refs can be benched/fired are the big sticking points.

They don't want to make all refs permanent. Goodel suggested maybe 10, which would allow them to work on calls/film/etc throughout the year and then have at least one as part if every ref team.

If done right, could help a lot with consistency.

Well, Vick is hurt again, for the 2nd week in a row .....

Odds on him starting all 16 games this year, ...... 10% ... maybe ...

I would say lower maybe like 0%..all Eagles fans can do is hope that Foles or Kafka can fill in while he's out.

The Eagles could sure take a lesson from the Saints on how to protect a "small" quarterback. I think that letting Vince Young sign with the Bills is going to come back to bite the Eagles in the a$$. Well, chances are that Kevin Kolb might be available if they need a back-up/emergency starter.

Do you think he would want to come back ?

I think Foles will do fine in Vicks absence.

I sure hope your right. He has the potential if he can get his footwork improved.

As to Vince Young back to the Eagles.....No Thanks!! He sucked as their backup last year, not to mention the dream team statement he made. The Bills will be ready to send him packing soon enough.

Watching the Redskins/Bears replay on NFL Network and a few things stand out:

1) The Bears offense is scary. IF they can stay healthy, they are gonna give every team they play fits. Marshall at the WR...Forte and Bush at RB and all around weapon Hester...Cutler with Campbell as the backup. WOW!

3) RG3 is fast in everything..

4) The U's Hankerson is gonna be a very good WR for the Redskins.

5) Very disappointed that Bush and Campbell did not want to be backups and stressed that..and that is exactly what they will be in Chicago.

If Skelton wins the starting QB job for the Cardinals(which I think many players, including Fitzgerald, want),Kolb would most likely be willing to come back to the Eagles if he thinks he can start over an injured Vick.

Um, how do you think he makes it back to the Eagles, and what makes you think he's better enough to be worth whatever it takes to do so?

I believe he'd be willing to go back to the Eagles if he loses the starting job to Skelton,HOW he actually gets back to the Eagles is between the Eagles & Cardinals.

Eagles knew what they were getting rid of,they don't want Kolb back.

The Bears are my "flying under the radar team" in 2012. In the NFC you hear about the Packers, Eagles, Giants, 49ers, Cowboys, Saints and even the Falcons and Lions before you get to the Bears. IMHO, the Bears are as good or better than at least half of those teams.

I am not sure about their defense because I have not kept up with that side of the ball for them...but if they are anywhere close to how good they are on offense...they are BETTER than the Eagles, Cowboys and Falcons and AS GOOD as the Giants, Lions, Saints... and almost at the heels of the 49ers and Packers.

Then add the Eagles to the list of teams participating in the "Matt Barkley" sweepstakes, along with the Cardinals,Cowboys,& Jets. Will(can/would/should/could) Goodell strip all 4 of these teams of their 1st round draft picks if he suspects that they are deliberately throwing games in order to get the top overall pick,& with it matt Barkley? Shades of Olympic Badminton.
I mean I doubt that Goodell,& the NFL,wants another repeat of "Suck for Luck."
