Last night was exhibit A of why running up the score is fine by me. HOLD ONTO BIG LEADS!

My team was on the flip side- Houston, 35-3, 1992-93 playoffs.

As far as I'm concerned, put your foot on the throats. DO NOT GIVE THE OPPOSITION ANY GLIMMER OF HOPE!

JOhn FOx needs to learn this..................we seem to put on the brakes after a decent lead.

I just try not to worry about 'some people' when possible. There are always people ready to be offended by anything. It's a game/their job/entertainment, nothing more.

This is why people think Tom Brady is an arrogant prick-

Tom Brady: Patriots 'kind of gave it' to 49ers after tie

The New England Patriots dug a 28-point hole Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers. With all of the fumbles and mistakes, it started to resemble the Patriots-Jets game from Thanksgiving.

The Patriots tested San Francisco's fortitude Sunday night. Albert Breer says the 49ers' response spoke volumes.
Of course, the Jets never rallied to tie the score.

"I'm really proud of the fact our guys never blinked an eye down 28 points against probably the best defense in the league," Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said on WEEI-FM this morning.

The Patriots scored 28 points in less than 20 minutes. Still, Brady was disappointed with the effort overall in the 41-34 loss. He noted it was a sloppy game with a ton of fumbles on both sides, although the Patriots failed to recover their fumbles. He gave the 49ers' defense a lot of credit for applying pressure, but he also said many of the Patriots' problems were "self-inflicted."

He especially was disappointed at what happened after New England tied the score at 31.

"We kind of gave it to them at that point. We didn't do anything on offense," Brady said. "We didn't put up the kind of fight I wish we would have been able to."

It's not surprising Brady feels that way. We take the other angle.

At the toughest moments in the biggest game of the season, the 49ers responded. They hit back. San Francisco's tired defense, on the field for more than 90 plays, created pressure out of nowhere.

Despite giving up a ton of yards in the second half, it was a big-time performance in a big game by one of the best defenses in football.

I Guess it's better to be an arrogant prick, than a choking dog in the playoffs?

And the reason some people think he's an arrogant prick, is because he is constantly kicking their teams ass. Jealousy.

Maybe it's just the simplest answer, he's an arrogant prick?

Looking forward to seeing him at Mile High in January.

If arrogant prick = winner than I guess you're right.

Congratulations for the Broncos 1st win against a team with winning record on Sunday.

His personality has nothing to do with his performance on the field, he's obviously one of the best.

So, what are the Bengals and Ravens? not going to apologize for winning 9 in a row.

We lost to 3 of the best teams in the NFL, and early in the season before this new team gelled...

And what is the record of the Cardinals?

Funny...as much I hatefully respect the Pats, I have never seen Brady as "an arrogant prick". There is NO DOUBT is a confident to the point that it almost teeters on cocky. But he has always said the right things at the right time. Does he take andvantage of his position in the game to get calls his way, hell ya...but who wouldn't? The one things that I have always liked about him was that he has gotten nailed many times on CLEAN hits and he would be the 1st one to congratulate the defensive player on the hit.

Big time respect from me on that..:up. I still hate his pretty boy guts and it was a FUMBLE dammit!!!:cool:;)

Sunday is going to be a gut wrenching day. If the Bengals win, they are in the playoffs. The Steelers though have the Bengals number the last few years. I think they have only beat them once in the last 3 years. Redskins need to win out to guarantee a playoff spot which would be the division too.

At the risk of sounding like a homer, you nailed it! In fact, I could never understand anyone calling the Patriots arrogant. In all my years following sports, I have never seen a team that falls over backwards to compliment their opponent like this one. They could be playing the '08 Lions, and the Belichick and Brady soundbites would make you think they were playing the '84 49ers. Contrast that to the 2001 Steelers, whose coach (Cowher) and QB (Kordell Stewart) were quoted to having their itinerary in New Orleans all plotted out for Super Bowl week, BEFORE they played the AFCCG. If the Patriots ever did that, we'd never hear the end of it.

Also, Brady has NEVER thrown a teammate under the bus after a tough loss. If anything, he always blames himself, and more times than not he's carried the team. Contrast that to a certain QB that has thrown his offensive line and "idiot" kicker under the bus after tough playoff losses.

Correction- a liquored up "idiot kicker."

They only had a 13 game package. No idea why the NFL decided to just go with 13.NBC had the other Thursday night games.

And why is Detroit and Atlanta on Saturday ?

Maybe the NFL is thinking that Saturday would start the LONG Christmas weekend. (for those that don't have to work on Monday)
