NFL 2009-10 Season

I wonder if he was overruled by the HC when it came to the close games you note at the end of the 4th? If not, hopefully he's learned his lesson.

Rob Ryan does come from a very astute Defensive minded football family. The genes are there.

His dad was the legendary D-Coordinator, Buddy Ryan and coached on 3 different Super Bowl teams. His brother is Rex Ryan who was the Ravens D-Coordinator from 1999 until he was recently signed by the Jets.

I bet he was never overruled because Ryan was a Davis kiss-ass. They use to have SEPERATE after games press conferences...Ryan and Kiffin/Cable. The only thing positive that cambe about Kiffin getting fired was Cable and Ryan actually got along.

Bill, he was a very formidable CB when he was with the Browns prior to the '08 season. Last year, he was traded to the Lions for Shaun Rodgers and wasn't anything special in Detroit, but I don't think that was an accurate assessment of his abilities. Bill Belicheck must know something. At 27, I think he still has plenty left in the tank. Congrats on a great signing.

Wow, thanks.

They added Shawn Springs also earlier in the week. They REALLY needed to address the secondary, and it looks like they've taken a couple of huge steps to that goal.

Hell, Bodden didn't even START in Detroit after the first half of the season .....

Again, I'm not sure why he fluttered in Detroit. He was a very solid corner for us for years. Plus, NE signed him for a league minimum 1 year deal for around $750,000. That's a helluva bargain for Bodden!

I could give you 16 reasons. The biggest was that he wasn't a good fit for the "Tampa Too" defense. Not a big deal, apparently neither were the rest of the defensive players on the roster.;)

He did it because he's like most other Lions, they know that they can get away with it....just like the rest of them, Lions have about 5 guys that could play on a good NFL team.
it's dispicable .... some day they will actually get someone in there tyhathas a clue of how to win football games, but not before Ford moves on.......
They could have had a shot at Parcell's, he would have cleaned house.
They had a shot a Peoli, but didn't bother to make a good enough offer...
There's plenty here to blame, starting with the owner and working your way down to the coaches and players.

When I was young I was a Lions and a Steeler's fan ....but the Lions make it so difficult to even think about them.

Yeah, but they've been the best "straight man" I've ever had here. If I had material like them everyday, I could write for Letterman.

So how many players are left from the last New England championship team? I'm guessing it's less than 10 now.

That's an amazing number. They will be in the thick of the playoff race, while my Lions change players as fast as I change my underwear, and can't even get a whiff of a win. I got a "whiff" of the Lions last season. They smelled like my underwear.

I think there's only three remaining from all three championship teams:

Tom Brady
Richard Seymour
Tedy Bruschi

Can't think of any others off the top of my head.

Okay I came up with two more:

Kevin Faulk (HOW did I forget him?? He's been one of my favorite Patriots)
Matt Light

The identity of the last player is escaping me.

center Dan Koppen. i don't think he was on all the last 3 championships though

it's guard stephen neal. whether he played all the games or not,he was on the roster of the 3 championship teams. no one else left besides the names already mentioned.
