what , 2 previous coaches from the bill belichick tree isn't enough already?
They hire Weis, and then can't get any big name coaching candidates because their staff is already being filled in...
If this is to happen, you hire a coach first, with that coach on board with bringing Weis in and then do it. Not hire Weis, and limit your options on the coaching carousel.
Part of me hopes the rest of their games go into OT giving Quinn a shot at hitting that 70% of snaps escalator. Probably an impossibility now. If he finishes the season strong, I'd be asking for a reworked contract.
I hear ya!I'm not saying I agree with the decision. Seems to me our dumb a** owner hasn't learned his lesson yet though.
Oakland Raiders QB Bruce Gradkowski has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for games played during Week 13 of the 2009 NFL Regular Season. The Pittsburgh-native led the Silver and Black to a 27-24 victory over the Steelers at Heinz Field in his hometown.
More reason to believe nothing really happened as far as the Cable incident:
Hanson rejoins Raiders in new job
ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Randy Hanson, who accused Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable of assault after a training camp scuffle, has returned to work in the team's personnel department.
Hanson had been employed as an assistant defensive backs coach before the Aug. 5 incident and had not been around the Raiders' facilities since.
He accused Cable of assaulting him during a meeting at the team's training camp hotel in Napa, which resulted in Hanson being treated for a broken jaw.
Cable denied any wrongdoing and Napa County District Attorney Gary Lieberstein declined to pursue charges against the head coach following an investigation.
Hanson and his attorney, John McGuinn, had also raised the possibility of a civil lawsuit.
Hanson arrived at the team's headquarters on Wednesday and went to work.
Cable said he was surprised by news of Hanson's return.
"Sure, but right now my focus is this football team," Cable said. "That's behind us and we're moving forward."

Cable wasn't consulted? Sounds like legal action has already started. Wonder how much money has already changed hands and how much will in the future over Cable's lack of self-control?

Wow....
...could there be a change in the air?
Even a blind squirrel will find a nut eventually
Not so fast, my friend. Steelers may not be a playoff team. Let's see if they can beat the 1-11 Browns. I think they need to win the next three to make it as an AFC wildcard. Not when you win 2 out of 3 against playoff teams. Since the change at QB, they have played MUCH better with very little of the same mistakes they were making BEFORE the change at QB.

i've said that since his first season. but to be fair he really doesn't have to take a pay cut. that's what the raiders were willing to pay him. now his neck is going to have an extra fold of fat sitting on that bench. what a waste. i still think he has one hell of an arm but he's missing to many other qualities that make a good qb. i'm still hoping to see a rookie salary cap in my lifetime for the NFLJaMarcus just doesn't get it.
JaMarcus won't consider a pay cut | ProFootballTalk.com
Blames everyone but himself, and wont give credit to Gradkowski for how he's playing. He'll never be the leader this team needs. He's the fat black version of Ryan Leaf.
