NFL 2009-10 Season

Also, I think the AFC troika of Pats/Colts/Steelers this decade is reminisent of the NFC Cowboys/Niners/Packers rivalries of the 90's.

After doing a little research, these three AFC teams have been, far and away, the best three teams in the NFL this decade.

The Colts have the best regular season record this decade (109-43) (entering this weekend's games), followed closely by the Pats (108-44). The Steelers are the only other NFL team with at least 100 regular season wins (100-51-1).

The Pats have the best postseason record (14-3), the Steelers are next (10-4). The Colts are 7-7.

BTW, the best NFC team this decade:the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles have a 97-54-1 regular season record,and a 10-7 postseason mark.

1. The difference between pats/colts and yankees/redsox --- you can always count on yanks or sox to be there a the end! you cant with these two teams!!!! 2. Both teams still have to beat the world champs! Did you watch them on Monday??????? These boys are NOT the Cowher coached bunch!!!!

Since the world champs will probably only see either of these teams after beating Denver for the wild card game, it's unlikely they'll get a shot at both of them, so that rules out point number 2.

As for point number 1, the Patriots have been to the playoffs as many times as the Steelers have since 2000, and the Colts have been there more.

So yeah, this is the game of the week by a mile, and is the best modern rivalry. I don't think it really goes against the storied rivalries very well from other sports, the only reason they play each other what seems like every year is because they win their divisions a lot, and all of the division winners play each other every year (thus creating a tougher strength of schedule).

All the Bengals-Steelers game is this week is a chance for the Steelers to salvage some dignity after losing to the Bengals once already this season. Sure the Steelers looked good on Monday, they didn't look so good losing by 3 back to back weeks @ the Bengals and @ the floundering Bears. Even if the Bengals lose tonight they've probably still got the division wrapped up, their schedule is pretty easy compared to who the Steelers have coming up.

Good thing we don't have to decide between the two games...

The Steelers/Bengals will play on Sunday at 1pm, while the Pats/Colts will have the spotlight all to themselves on Sunday Night.

Raiders get 4 starters BACK starting this sunday against Chiefs:

RB - Darren MacFadden
OL - Cornell Greene
OL - Robert Gallery
WR - Chaz Schilens

Hopefully, this will be enough to beat the Chiefs and get something going.
And the INITIAL starting offensive line is practicing for the 1st time since the season began.

Unfortunately any progress will probably be written off as 'well but it was against the Chiefs' (same goes for any Chiefs achievements... 'well look at the opponent')

Since our last meeting the Chiefs have picked up Chris Chambers and will be getting Branden Albert back for the first time since the Cowboys game, and lost Matt Goff from the offensive line (though many Chiefs fans see the latter as a positive).

Whoever can look the most like a football team will win!

Haha.

Oakland cornerback Chris Johnson says that after perusing the Raiders' second-half schedule, he thinks it's entirely possible that they'll win their next eight games and finish the season in playoff contention.

"If you really want to look at it, you can go 8-0 and you might end up 10-6," Johnson said Wednesday, per the Oakland Tribune. "There's a possible way you can actually do it."

Technically, Johnson is right: It is possible that the Raiders could go 8-0. It's also possible that JaMarcus Russell will get an endorsement deal with Weight Watchers, Tom Cable will be named Man of the Year by the National Organization for Women and Al Davis will stop making personnel decisions as if he's trying to put together a record-setting 4x100-meter relay team.

Cool, I like them better than Bruce.

SB is on CBS, maybe they'll have the cast of CSI up there to jam out to all their opening songs :p

:D :up

Also, could this be an omen? ;)

"Won't be fooled again" (Meet the new boss, same as the old boss) is played after every Patriots game at Gillette!

With sincere apologies to Bengal and Steeler fans on here, this weekend's NFL marquee game is Patriots-Colts.

A year ago, it didn't seem like its normal self- Colts were 3-4, Brady was out with the knee injury, both teams weren't firing on all cylinders.

Well, this year, it's back to its high-energy self- Colts are 8-0 and the Pats are 6-2 (and they aren't bad losses- Denver's very good and the Jets are a divisional rival that plays them tough), both teams have looked very sharp so far, and Brady is back.

Bill, you know this rivalry better than I do.

I have to ask this: is Patriots-Colts the NFL equivalent of Yankees-Red Sox?

And on a side note...It looks to be a Boston Invasion here this weekend as the Pacers host the Celtics Saturday night at Conseco Fieldhouse!!!...I guess we better hide the silverware!!!...;)

It's also the song played as the Colts take the field at Lucas Oil, (and the Dome before that), so watch what you ask for!!!...;)

Oops, that's right too.

I actually think your Colts are the team to beat this year............Bob Sanders or no Bob Sanders.

As far as Sunday's game goes, this is obviously a much bigger game for the Patriots. If the Colts win, the AFCCG will almost assuredly have to run through Lucas Oil. OTOH, if the Pats win, the Colts will still be ahead of the pack (Pats, Steelers, Bengals, etc) in the race for the #1 seed.

First of all, Who said anything about the Steeler's Bengals being the "Game of the Week ?"

2nd, the Steelers have 2 losses but a combined total of 6 points, it's not like they were not in these games, 6 points and they could be undefeated.

Steelers are playing well and beat the Bengals.
Steelers have righted the ship since a slow start, they've won 5 straight.
You sound like you expect the Bengals to easily beat the Steelers, NOT gonna happen.

Steelers have a tough schedule as usual, actually LAST year was MUCH harder.

BENGALS will NOT win the division.

Bengals remaining opponents:

@ PIT
@ OAK
CLE
DET
@ MIN
@ SD
KC
@ NYJ

Steelers remaining opponents:

CIN
@ KC
@ BAL
OAK
@ CLE
GB
BAL
@ MIA

Tomorrow isn't an easy win, but with a sweep of Baltimore and wins already over the Steelers and Browns it'd be Bengals first loss in the division, and they have a lot more 'should win' games than the Steelers do. With Miami, Baltimore twice and Green Bay, certainly no cake walk whereas the Bengals have already beaten Green Bay, and really has just Minnesota and San Diego to get by, and maybe the Jets. Otherwise they should win a majority of what's left.
