Monday Morning Quarterback- Filling in for HD
I'll do my best to fill in for the MMQB this week, since HD's heart isn't it. (I understand his reasons why; can't blame him).
1. Forget the debate among which of the three unbeatens is the league's best for a moment. Which of the league's three winless teams is the worst- St. Louis, Tampa Bay, or Tennessee?
2. Who would have ever thought that Cedric Benson would find happiness in Cincinnati? When I first heard about this signing, I thought it was another bad signing. Boy, was I wrong! While it wasn't Favre-vs-Green Bay, Benson against the Bears was quite the sight to see- nearly 189 yards rushing!
3. Speaking of which- HD, as bad as Cleveland has been at times, at least they haven't given up 40 points.
4. A couple of weeks ago, some of us were ready to giftwrap the NFC West title to the 49ers. Perhaps we were a little premature- Arizona reminded some of us last night that they are still the rulers of that division.
5. Speaking of the NFC West (or NFC Worst, as some like to say)- I know the division stinks, but is it their fault everyone else is struggling? The other three teams can't do things right. It's not the Cards' fault the rest of that division has trouble staying upright.
6. After seeing what the Jets did to Oakland yesterday, the Eagles have to be kicking themselves. This could be a costly loss ala the Cowboys losing to St. Louis last year (at least they had an excuse- Romo was hurt!)
7. The New England Patriots have now won 17 straight games over the NFC. The Saints have the best shot to end that streak in their Monday Night showdown (unless you're crazy enough to think Carolina will spring an upset).
8. Rams vs. Lions- Can't wait to see how many people will watch that one!
9. Goaliebob, way to manage your fantasy team! Benching Ricky Williams and the Patriot defense, starting Earnest Graham- who didn't even play yesterday- and stacking your team with so many Bears players.
10. This upcoming week is very interesting- aside from the Rams/Lions game of the century, you have a crucial Giants/Eagles game, a fascinating matchup between the Ravens and Broncos in Denver, and a Falcons/Saints Monday Night duel in the Superdome. Oh, and Favre Bowl II.
