NFL 2008-09 Season

But, A Win's a Win .....
Until the regular season starts, nothing means nothing .....

Jimbo

As we said last year - "Not that it means anything..." Calvin Johnson is starting to look like all that was advertised. Kitna is perfect in very limited playing time, the defensive line showed signs of life. BUT - the defense is still giving up yards in huge chunks, and they couldn't run the ball even if their asses were on fire. In other words - different year, same old Lions. I've yet to see anything that makes me think this season will be any different from the last.

IMO, Kitna is now the best QB in the NFC North (I've always thought that Kitna was a pretty decent NFL QB anyway). Think about it, you have two quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers and Tarvaris Jackson that have yet to prove themselves, and then you have the black hole that's the Bears QB situation.

Maybe we have the best QB, but defense wins championships, and our numbers indicate we had the worst defense in the NFL last season. I expect some improvement in that area, but only because when you hit bottom, there is nowhere else to go but up. This team is still a long way from the playoffs.

I agree.

And with Tavaris Jackson going down the other day (not sure of the extent of the injury), but Minnesota now even looks mortal.

Kyle Orton beat out Rex Grossman for the Bears starting QB job.

Kyle "The Bottle" Orton!?!!

This guy?......

It sucks to see Brian Griese leaving the Bears, he did a much better job than Mr Orton and Grossman.
Griese should have been the starting QB for the Bears.

Looks like it. I don't know what they are thinking. I guess Odell Thurmann is next.

According to the NFL Network, the Browns vs. Lions game this Saturday the 23rd will be televised on the NFLN at 4pm. I didn't realize this was going to be nationally televised until just now....
