NFL 2008-09 Season

Chris Mortensen: Browns fans will tell you that I am very high on Derek Anderson and opposed his benching. But after listening to all the critics during that pre-draft analysis of Quinn, I have seen enough from Quinn in practice, preseason and these two starts to see that he is going to be an absolute star in the NFL. I'm not just faulting the Dolphins - I'm saying a lot of teams blew it on Quinn. He prepares like Peyton Manning. Physically, he's big, strong & athletic. I can tell he knows how to play fast. His arm is actually stronger than advertised. His leadership is champion-like. You don't pass on QBs like that, so I assign this oversight to a lot of teams.

MY RAIDERS being the 1st and foremost. I liked Russell, but deep down inside, I would have taken Clavin Johnson or Brady Quinn. BUT considering the LACK of stability in the coaching staff, WHO KNOWS if the Raiders would have tried to rush him.

We will never know now.....:(:(:mad::mad:

Would that have been Cliff Clavin? I think the Lions made a HUGE mistake passing on the "Mighty Quinn" also. (As did quite a few others). Still scratching my head as to why this kid fell so far on draft day. Cleveland may have landed the best deal in the draft, that day.

Remember, we actually traded up to get Quinn. He wasn't our first choice either.

Our first pick was at #3: OT- Joe Thomas. As Quinn fell further and further in the draft, it became more realistic to trade back into the first round and get our franchise QB. We ended up giving up our 2nd round pick that year ('07) and our first round pick in '08 in exchange for the Cowboys #22 pick. If the trade with the Cowboys didn't work out, the next team in line to pick that year was the KC Chiefs. It was rumored at that time the QB starved Chiefs would've picked Quinn.

OOPPPSSS....LOL! I meant Calvin Johnson.

I hope Buffalo considers swtches quarterbacks.

Trent Edwards was exposed on Monday Night as not a "managing the game" quarterback, but a weak-armed wimp who can't throw a ball farther than 10 yards.

After The Mighty Quinn basically said "I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE," if I'm Dick Jauron, switch to Losman.

I was too busy doing other things. Brandon Web, Drew Hall, Charlie Reliford, and Greg Gibson were at a function to raise money for the local little league baseball in my area. They are all from the Ashland area.

PTI Toss Up:

Which NFL game will be worse to watch:

Raiders/Chiefs or Bengals/Chiefs?

There will be more people watching the Raiders/Chiefs game because of ALL the Raider Haters in this country. There are ALOT more people that want to see them lose than win.

As far as painfull, I figured the Raiders/Chiefs because of the lack of offense on the Raiders behalf. Bengals will be a high scoring affair...something in the 34-27 or 38-31 kinda deal. The Raiders/Chiefs will likely be and old, boring AFL 17-10 or 17-14 kinda game.

Paul, for BAD teams, I've been calamoring all season that the Chiefs are just as miserable.

Here's an interesting stat.....

The Kansas City Chiefs have played 10 games. They have six sacks. That would be as a team. Six sacks. There are 19 individual PLAYERS in the NFL with six sacks or more. The Chiefs are on pace for TEN sacks all season, and that’s actually rounding up.

Fewest sacks for teams since 1969:

1. Baltimore Colts, 1982 (9-game season), 11
2. Buffalo Bulls, 1982 (9-game season), 12
3. Baltimore Colts, 1981, 13
4. New England Patriots, 1972 (14-game season), 14
5. New York Jets, 1976 (14-game season), 16
6. Los Angeles Rams, 1991, 17
7. Atlanta Falcons, 1987 (15-game season), 17
8. Philadelphia Eagles, 1975 (14-game season), 17
(tie) Buffalo Bills, 1977 (14-game season), 17
(tie), New Orleans Saints, 1970, 17

So as you can see, this year’s Chiefs team has a chance to be the least intimidating defense ever. And by quite a lot.

Sunday marks the 11 month anniversary since the last time the Lions won, against KC.
