NFL 2008-09 Season

I know a lot of you think I'm a little idioctic with my hatred of the G-String Men (or Big Blue Scum), but I wonder:

did the Giants sell their souls to Satan?

Maybe THAT'S why they suddenly appear to be God's gift to the game of football.

BTW, Tom Coughlin is the Barry Switzer of the 21st century- he's lucky to be surrounded by good players.

 Barry Switzer inherited a team that had just won back to back SB's. Tom Coughlin has been the coach of the Giants since 2004. The Giants did nothing but underachieve since they reached the SB in 2000. Coughlin had to break in a rookie QB in Eli Manning, who has had his ups and downs. Switzer got Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin in their prime. Coughlin had also been very successful with the EXPANSION Jaguars. Switzer had never coached in the NFL before and he hasn't since. Coughlin has made the Giants into the success that they are today. Switzer had nothing to do with the success of the Cowboys.

Sandra alluded to it in another post but the Giants have been a completely different team since Jeremy Shockey broke his leg last year. Once they got that prima donna off the field and out of the locker room the Giants have been unstoppable.

I posting my Week 10- Top 10 now. Whatever happens tomorrow night (ie. Arizona could win by 60) will NOT change MY top 10.

1. Tennessee
2. NY Giants
3. Carolina
4. Washington
5. Tampa Bay
6. Pittsburgh
7. Atlanta
8. New England
9. Baltimore
10. NY Jets

Your kidding right ?

You really think when it counts that Carolina and Tampa Bay are better than Pittsburgh ?
Or are you considering right now when the Steelers are severly banged up and missing many peices of thier game ...

For the love of God, will you PLEASE let this vendetta against the Giants go??

Every time they win, I get a little bit ticked off.

Bottom line- I don't like them, but in my Power Rankings that I'll put up, I'll have them #2 (There are some college football team I don't like, but I still have them high).

Just because I don't like them doesn't mean I'm ranking them below two or three-loss teams.

The schedule gets tougher, but I will concede that they are a great team IF they can either win 11 games, win their division, and/or get a first-round bye.

No, I'm not kidding.

And for the umpteenth time since I started posting these trivial (but IMO, fun) power rankings, just because I have Team A ahead of Team B doesn't necessarily mean that I think Team A is better...........it's where I think they deserve to be at that moment.

BTW, don't you remember just last week that I picked the Steelers to win the Super Bowl??

However, I might have to revise that (yet again ;)) because WATCH OUT...........the Colts are back!!!

Or how about the fact that they beat the 18-0 Patriots in the SB last year and are currently 8-1? When did you start giving New England credit for being any good, when they won their 3rd SB?

Roethlisberger is starting to remind me of Jarret Lee at LSU with his uncanny ability to throw the game away. The Steelers had that one won and Big Ben went to slinging again. Damn, what a frustrating football weekend for me!

IF he'd ever get healthy that might change ... I'm beginning to think that they should play Leftwitch and see if Ben can heal with a few weeks to rest.

Really Paul, it's a toss-up. The Bills have recently been stung with injuries and their defense is ailing. The Bills are at home, but that may actually be good news for the Browns. Cleveland fans are very harsh critics of their team and they would boo a poor performance. In Buffalo, at least they can be free from that. But on the other hand, the Browns defense has been absolutely abysmal! We lost 2 weeks in a row after leading by double digits in the 4th quarter. Should be a close one in the end.

I'm taking the Browns.

Shawn Rodgers taking the 4th quarter off again, he's usually useless by then anyways. :D

Very good analogy Anders :up

There is NO comparing the two coaches .
Many don't like Coughlin, but he's getting the job done and his QB is playing better and better.

Thank you, this has been my point all along.

But, we're supposed to believe that the 5-3 Cardinals, a team that plays in a historically weak division, a team that has won one playoff game in over 60 freakin' years is for real, right?? Please!!!

Final Score tonight:

Arizona 41......SF 17

i completely agree here. i think the coach will end up pulling down more than just his pants at halftime! :D

Arizona's high power offense will prove to be a bit much for that secondary tonight

In my previous NFL power rankings, I have had the Giants ahead of Arizona. After Zona lost a few games, I dropped them below the Giants.

I am NOT saying that the Cardinals will be playing on the first Sunday in February, but I do think they will host a playoff game and win.

Anything after that is just icing on the cake.
