NFL 2008-09 Season

Bill, that Pats/Jets NFL Network game has just gotten a lot more interesting- sole possession of first place is on the line!

It sure has. NFLN must be doing backflips.

It's funny though, the Jets seem to play us tougher in Foxboro.

The Pats have pretty much owned the Jets in recent years at the Meadowlands.

Thoughts on the early Sunday Games:

1. Bills slowly working their way to being the odd man out in the AFC East.

2. Rams sent football back 100 years with their play today.

3. It was sort of both the good and bad Rex today.

4. Saints now enter the overrated zone.

5. Nice comeback by the Vikings.

Bill, I got your private message.

I have thought about, and will have to decline the avatar bet with Donnelly for Tech/Oklahoma.

Not only am I honoring another bet, but I have another reason; Donnelly, unlike the people I've made my other avatar bets with (Bill, BlackHitachi), isn't someone I am as familiar with.

I just don't have the same rapport with Donnelly- BlackHitachi and myself have Big 12 bloodlines, and Bill is someone I've known since DBSForums. I haven't connected with Donnelly the same way I have with someone like HD MM, SandraC, or mccoy.

I'd love to do it, but I thought about it and will respectfuly decline.

OTOH, I may challenge Bill to a rematch on the final week of the season.

If that's what you want that's fine, but if you change your mind, go for it!

Are we still on for the Cards-Pats in Dec?

No.

Arizona might win the division by then, since the other teams in the NFC West are so bad (Rams and Seahawks lose, and I don't give the 49ers a chance tomorrow)

Bills/Pats, OTOH, could have bigger implications.

Is this year's NFC West the worst single-season division in football history?

I think back to 1985, when an 8-8 Browns team won the AFC Central and nobody else had a pulse. (That year, 10-6 Washington and 11-5 Denver MISSED THE PLAYOFFS!)

Raiders fumbled away the opening kickoff and just threw a pick in the end zone. Looks like they're in top form today.

Seeing that you are more than likely going on little blurbs....Raiders defense has come to play. Other than the opening kickoff fumble, they have held the Panthers to litterally nothing. We are already handicapped with lack of playmakers, today we have BOTH no JaMarcus and no McFadden....

They are moving the ball a lot better than last week (they have exceeded last week's passing yards and offensive yards).

Besides, the Raiders are nowhere near the worst performance by a team today- that would be the Rams.

JaMarcus Russel a playmaker? Now I have heard it all from you.

Raiders are garbage, and that might be an insult to garbage.

Came to play? That's debatable. What does appear to be true is what I thought might happen. The Panthers are sleepwalking against a team they don't respect. WAKE UP!!!!!

I'm watching the game.

I see a one-dimensional Raiders team- a good defensive team being hindered by an offense that seems to go backwards.

(Even in their 2-14 year in 2006, they had a top-10 defense)

Looks like the Red Bull kicked in for DeAngelo Williams. 14-0 would be too much for the Raiders to overcome if Panthers only played 7 defensive players in the 2nd half.
