Newbie 301 and 501 and vcr question

I used to have 501 receiver , I have disconnected , because I don't want to pay $5 every month. Now , I would like to know. I already hooked up my 301 and everything working fine. But Now I want to record from my 301 to 501 hard drive or VCR. Please suggest me , how to setup record from 301 to 501(PVR) or 301 to VCR

First of all the 501 receiver does not have a DVR fee. There is no way to record from an external device to the 501 hard-drive. There are a couple of ways to record the output of the 301. Use the antenna out of the 301 (channel 3 or 4) to the VCR antenna input and select that channel on your VCR to record, or you can install an A/V cable from the receiver to the VCR and select the A/V input on the VCR to record.
