new software suppose to come today?

I don't know what Dish did but the software to the HWS's are now causing the damn things to go to a black screen upon setup from out of the box right before you can select screen sizes such as 1080. I have had to reset each one in the last few days at this spot to get it to finish the damn setup but I do say it has speeded up the process before that which is counter productive.

If you leave them alone for several minutes they come out of the black screen and then act normally.

And just because a rollout is scheduled to begin on the 22nd doesn't mean we should all expect to get it then. It could take days or (most likely) weeks for it to get to everyone.

Several minutes in this business is a lifetime, resetting it takes only 2minutes so what would you rather do. I'd rather reset the sucker (which I shouldn't to do or wait several minutes) or wait that several minutes when I could have gotten done, left for other job which after a few of these could end up saving an average of 30minutes a day..more time to be home relaxing.

What I've noticed is that they come out of the black screen quicker than they reboot. I'm not recommending that you waste time and I'm not trying to make excuses because the things aren't perfect. I was just relaying what I've seen, but thanks anyway.

It varies, about 2 to maybe 5 at the most. Usually less time than rebooting.

Just got word the software is scheduled to go out Thursday / Friday.

The software will be S422 for the Hopper and S333 for the Hopper with Sling. Joeys will be upgraded to S361 / S454

It will be a staggered rollout so some of you might get it on Thursday others might get it on Friday, some may not get it until later. If you do not get it in the first two windows there is no way to force a download of the software. You receiver will get the software when it is queued for your receiver and only when your receiver is queued.

Also remember just because a release is scheduled does not mean it will be released on time. (I hope this is not the case)

I do not know what is new or fixed in this release. I am reporting to you all I know at this time. If anything changes and I am alerted I will let you know.
