New SIM Card?

I have a 721 that Dish sent me a new card for about 3 weeks ago. I have not switched it out yet, but what is the advantage or disadvantage of the new card. Will the receiver just stop working one day if I don't change it out?

Also, I heard that changing your card could fry the box. Since I own it, if it goes tits up will Dish replace it or am I screwed?

Just replace the card. No damage will result. I have replaced it on both my 721 and older 5000 receiver with no problems at all. Just be sure to turn the 721 off when you do the swap (or better yet, just follow the very simple instructions that came with it). There are no advantages to using the new card as it is a step in the battle to beat the hackers out there. But if you don't swap out the card, your service will be disconnected at some point...
