SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TiVo (Nasdaq: TIVO - News), the creator of television services for digital video recorders (DVRs), said today it will offer a $50 rebate(*) through the peak holiday shopping season that will for the first time push the entry price point on the TiVo Series2(TM) to under $200 at leading retailers across the country.

"With the right pricing, the right product and the right distribution, a TiVo DVR is the gift on everyone's wish list this year," said Joe Miller, Vice President, Sales at TiVo. "The most sought after gift for the holidays is now more affordable than ever."

TiVo is offering a $50 mail-in rebate on its industry leading TiVo Series2 models, which store up to 40 or 80 hours of television programs. With the rebate, the 40 hour TiVo Series2, the same product featured on Oprah's annual "Best of the Best" show, can be purchased for just $199. The 80 hour Series2 is $299 after the rebate.
