Hi Guys. I'm new here, been reading these forums for the past few weeks. Finally getting my DirecTV installed.

I'm in Richmond, VA. First Mastech installer never showed up for a 8am-noon last saturday. Called and complained, they rescheduled for next morning 8am-noon. Finally got a call at 6pm that night that the tech is running late, guy finally shows at 8pm. I answer the door and he's on his cell telling someone he really doesn't want to install a system that late. Goes to the back of my townhome and says there's no LOS and then takes off.

I talked to my landlord who has no problem with a pole install in the front as its covered in my lease, called again and got another tech for this morning 8am to noon, guy's name is Ben. Guy calls me at 815am to tell me he's running behind and will be here by 845 am. Shows up at 840. I tell him what happened and what we need to do, and he showed me what he would like to install and how.. and the best part is, I asked him what model receiver he has.. He says "I only roll with H24s". Love this guy. He also told me the pole install will not cost me anything. He is so getting a tip. I look forward to my Comcast free future :D

At least the story has a good ending with the HR24s. The other guy sounds like the one who came to my house who said no guaranteed LOS and never heard back from them.
 
Yeah this guy was awesome. Just left. He knows what he was doing. Setup the HR 24. Walked me through the dvr, sports,etc. Even gave me his Tech # and Direct Cell #. Guy was surprised to get a tip. Beautiful beautiful screen with the hdmi. F you Comcast and your sh!tty compression. lol.
 
Called customer service and was transferred to installation. I praised the installer today and gave them the information to pass on. I complained about the prior missed appointments,etc. Apparently they can only do $50.00 service credit now for missed appointments.
