New HD Install W/ only 61.5 and 72

I was waiting for some clear skies before checking my transponders based on the posts above, and now that the clouds have parted, we're still without juice because of the storms that knocked down trees in my neighborhood (and we're supposed to have underground power!). Hopefully I can check tonight.

Now that we have sunny skies and power, here's what I see on 61.5?W, 72.7?W, and 77?W:

Xponder Satellite1234567891011121314151617181920212223242526272829303132
61.5?W3243495636423539365636443346373653000000000000000
72.7?W3333252533342524323423253235252632332624323424253232252332322425
77?W41----3939----4139--4441--38--3939----3840----41420--3637----40
For 61.5 it's 10, 14, 29, 31 (29 & 31 are out of service.) For 72.7 it's 15, 17, 19, 21. Minimum for those transponders should be 47.
As you can see by my numbers, I'm at least 20 "Quals" beneath that.

I'm curious about the block of zeros for 61.5?W Xpndr 18-32. If they aren't used, should they be skipped? Or, are they Spotbeams that aren't pointed my way?

Anyone know if the new EA twin has different skew values, or can it be installed in place of the triple LNB without a change? It's downside is no connection for a wing dish.

18-32 are spotbeams, but some should be pointed your way. It takes a long time sometimes for the lock on the spotbeam to occur on the new 61.5 E16 sat, perhaps you didn't wait long enough?

Ditto on the spotbeams and the time it takes to get them to show up. I tested the other night and it took a long while to get each one to show. As for the signal strengths on 77 sat , you are getting low numbers and some not at all when you should have a number. 72.7 sat is not showing good strengths at all. You should be getting around high 50s to high 60s on that sat. The 61.5 sat is very low as well. I think you need a complete repoint and aim to get maximum strength on all 3 sats.

I'm going to have to start charting my 61.5 signal strengths, and compare them over time. I think a few branches from a neighboring tree might start infringing on my LOS for 61.5, if they continue to grow and stretch westward.

I should be able to "cheat" by tuning to one of my LiL stations and see which Spotbeam lights up. I had my ViP 222 reset the first time I went through the 61.5 - 72.7 transition and I was getting zeros for the first couple of 72.7 transponders. Then it all went black and my Toshiba said "Video Lost".

Needless to say, I do need Dish to take another look at their installation.

Filling in the zeros for my 61.5?W readings (you're right, they took about a minute to lock in):

181920212223242526272829303132
43s25s39s36s00000045n046s00
(s = Spotbeam, n = Name not Acquired)

I'm sure the windstorms we have had in the last two years have probably knocked the dish out of whack. I'll call Dish when I can take some time off to meet the Tech.

Edit: I was trying to see which Spotbeam is listed in "TheList" and it lists the satellite as ??.??W and the Beam as D#1030. Going to one of my LiL HD channels, then Menu-6-1-1, it shows Spotbeam 30 on 61.5?W

If you look in the column to the left of Beam on TheList, you'll see "TI", which is the first 2 characters of "TID#1030". The last 2 digits of the TID#1030 is the transponder number, which in your case is 30. It technically isn't "Spotbeam 30", it's Transponder 30 which is being identified on Menu-6-1-1 as a spotbeam.

This is what TheList shows for my LiL DMA:

It wasn't as clear as the other resources on SatelliteGuys in describing that this market is on Transponder 30 on Satellite 61.5?W. For example, looking at the Channel 5192 for WNDU turns up this:
Screen Shot 2013-06-02 at 23.39.20 .png
As you can see, the next channel 5192 is identified as D#1080. Do I use your logic and say that is Transponder 80? Of course not. I just wanted to point out that TheList is not always as helpful as it could be.

Anyway, I apologize for derailing this thread away from the original topic of new Eastern Arc installs using the new 1000.2 dish. Everyone here has helped me with my question about my signal strengths compared to their numbers and I appreciate the input. Thanks!

Yeah, sorry...I meant to say that the last digit matches the transponder last digit, not the last two. So #1080 is either TP20 or TP30.
