Don't Activate Late Nite! It WON'T Happen!

Last night I picked up an H21 at Best Buy in Dallas, then went to Costco to snag a Samsung 23in LCD for my bedroom.

This is my third DTV HD box; I have a HR20 and a H20.

I finished unpacking both, and called DTV to activate--got the the call center in the Philippines (how do I know? I asked!). I was impressed with the CSR's English speaking skills, but feel like he was reading a script--nothing new as I've dealt with AT&T's DSL call center in Mexico. But what's annoying is that DTV's system is often down late in the evening. This is the second time that I've tried to activate a new receiver after 10pm CST, and both times was told "we are updating our system."

So I called early this morning and got hooked up (US call center).

I like the H21, but it really does not run cooler than the H20. The best thing about it is the smaller footprint and black color, and it comes with a 6' HDMI!

It is a shame that the H21 dosen't have an atsc tuner. In DFW you are missing a lot of OTA sub channels. 4.2/5.2 and 8.2 may be important today if the severe weather does develop. Of course seeing you have 2 other better receivers you do have access to the sub channels.
