I just had my 722 installed and all is well.

Dish supplies a large video cable for connecting to my 1080p Samsung, but not an HDMI cable.

Picture is awesome, sound is good....do I need to utilize an HDMI cable between 722 and TV? Will I see or hear a difference?

Thanks

Unless your TV has a remarkable sound system built into it, no.

If you do manage to formulate a compelling argument for HDMI, don't pay more than $15 for a cable.

Thanks. I priced a 3 footer at Wal mart for $26!!

I decided the picture and sound were just fine.

I'll save an HDMI connection for the BluRay DVD player once it's "viable"

Thanks for confirming my suspicions

And that monoprice.com cable will work just as well as a big $$$ one. Fast shipping as well. I've used them several times.

I also have a Samsung and Dish Network and I think the picture has more pop with the HDMI cable vs. the component. I also used monoprice.com - just make sure you get one with ferrite cores on it (audio could have 1-2 second drop outs if you don't) - I had to return mine because I got the wrong one to begin with.

Speed Hd

How Dish is paying it's lawyers fees... $599 damaged rcvr fee!
