I notice this is actually a new methodology DIRECTV's been doing lately from all I can remember ...

Updating the rolling NR to a new version like this before all eligible subscribers have even received the previous one.

I'm sticking with 1080 for now.
It has been without issues and I like having the channel logos in the guide.
That's what I was doing too ...

But as Techiefan says, 1088 may now get pushed to us, so ....

Have noticed one annoying issue, though I don't know if it's just with 1080.

The DP feature is erratic now, with the two channel toggle failing to switch many times. Pressing the remote down-arrow button simply reverts back to the same channel a lot frequently requiring two or three attempts at it to make the switch.

Just got the new software on our HR44 and it sucks. It is the worst thing I have ever seen. The font is way to small and all the other junk added to the screen is garbage.

Welcome to the world of the rest of us ....
I personally have had the new Gui since November ....
Take some time, you'll get use to it.

I find the Guide no problem, its the different layout of the Menu I dislike.

Got a dumb question. Do you have to be an edge cutter to do the 02468?
No, ...

But if you're going to be d/l'ing CE versions, you should activate the "Misc options" in the receiver menu by doing a key word search on "iamanedgecutter," so the receiver can access the special back-end servers needed for beta-testing.

Thanks!

Looks like no CE tonight .....We've gotten no word from DirecTV, so I'd say the odds are against for tonight.

Right now no one is on CE since they actually released for the masses the other weeks CE (1088), so if you download that you are on the latest and greatest which is not considered CE anymore. It's available from 3 AM ET to 7 AM ET M-F

Actually, it looks like the firmware sight is showing 1037 as the current software after 7am, so if ya like the 1037 better, its still available as a normal d/l.
So, 1088 for EARLY d/ls and 1037 for later.

I downloaded the latest CE release on Friday. On my genie mini C61, there would always be a delay/lag when hitting the replay button so I would have to click it twice to usually go back 6 seconds. It was always a lot more responsive on the genie HR54. After this recent update, I've noticed the genie mini is a lot more responsive when clicking the replay button. There isn't much of a lag anymore. I don't know maybe it's just me but I notice an improvement.
With my C61 and HR44, I would turn on the mini and it would take one to two minutes be be fully responsive and functional. Now it is up and running in less than 10 seconds! The upgrade seems to much better in getting the mini fully booted quickly.
