It's recommended to connect both Hopper 3's to the internet but to different Networks rather than one shared connection with only 1 Hopper 3 connected or connecting both Hopper 3's to the same network - which is a big no-no
That is why I disconnected the wired connection to the Family Room Hopper3. Are you saying that I should setup a subnet within my home network? I have Spectrum Cable internet modem feeding a Netgear R8000 router. Initially, I had both Hopper3 receivers wired to Gigabit switches but one of the Hopper3 receivers would internally disconnect the wired connection. Which one would disconnect depended on which one booted up faster. After talking to Dish network support I disconnected the Family Room Hopper3 so the setup would remain the same each time.
I am not sure how to create two subnet networks so that each Hopper3 has their own network. Feel free to give me some suggestions. Again the only problem I have noticed is with the Netflix app on the Hopper3 that gets it internet via Moca.
