NCAA Football Playoff possibilities

This depends on who you consider the little guys.
Every bowl game currently gets divied up among the conference teams, except for ND of course.
The little guys are the ones who don't have a BCS guarantee, thus no BCS money every year. The money the Mountain West has with it's bowl guarantees pales in comparison to the SEC. A playoff, while making more money in total would be split evenly, thus reducing the individual payouts that the SEC teams gets due to guaranteed bowl bids (currently the highest of all conferences).

One they can get rid of half of the useless bowl games they have now and that would draw more sponsor money.
They should cut the 32 bowl games now down to at the most 20.

Jimbo

Guys, we don't have to eliminate the other bowl games. Some of them would become part of the playoff system (thats where the "more money" would come from as per Jimbo in a previous post), the rest can still be played. Why not? If somebody wants to sponsor a game, go ahead. Everybody loves a bowl game. Just because we have a playoff system doesn't mean the other little piss-ant bowl games have to go away. The BCS hasn't eliminated the other bowl games, why would a playoff? If anything it would make some of the non-BCS bowls worth more being involved in a playoff.

A playoff system would put the smaller conferences into a bigger payoff, by including them in a playoff that gives bids to all conference winners, as discussed earlier. There really isn't any logical argument for not having a playoff system. Never was.
