NCAA Football 2014 season

What a crock of sh*t. I am officially done with college football. How the hell do you drop a team 3 spots in a week without losing. The politics and double standards is sickening. They keep Oklahoma State out a couple of years ago saying our loss was worse than Alabama's even though we beat more ranked teams and won our conference and now they just ignore Ohio St getting their ass handed to them at home by a 6-6 Vtech team.

Four best teams vs deserving.
Deserving is what won this time.
Baylor and TCU better than FSU and OSU (especially with 3rd string QB) imo.

You're right.

I feel bad for Arkansas, because the only thing I learned today is that they have a moron for an athletic director.

Computers >>>>>>> Committees.

Now I agree a little here about the 6-6 VTech team spanking OSU at home, in front of a record crowd and trashing a few streaks. The thing I dislike about the ESPN conversation is they are trashing VT's record. They don't understand that when VT played OSU they had EVERYONE healthy and playing. By time VT played UVA we were down to our 4th string running back, lost a few receivers, lost a few linemen on offense and defense. The end result is VT losing 5 games by 7points or less in the closing seconds to 1-2minutes of each game only getting throttled by a Miami team that was having a great night. OSU didn't lose to a BAD VT team.... they lost to a very good VT team at that time. So really VT isn't that bad of a team when you put everyone back on it that is injured and look at the final scores and stats.... hell they came back from 27points down to tie up with ECU to only have ECU win in the final seconds of the game or GT whom won by a FG in the last 3 seconds of the game who just played a very good game against FSU.

Lots of things to really consider here when picking but I think they picked right at the end of the day.... however, I still want a 8 team playoff.

A national college football championship has and always will be controversial. There is just no way to give all reasonably competitive teams a shot. A 4 team playoff is no better than the BCS, everyone should've seen that coming. Even adding eight teams will open the discussion to those who complain about lesser teams in overhyped conferences taking spots away from conference champions who may or may have not played a stronger schedule.

There will always be bias with the human element involved. A mythical championship except to the fan who's team is awarded the crown.

Nonsense. FSU beat the #1 F/+ D in the country with a backup Qb (Clemson), we just beat the #2 Offense in F/+, and have beaten several Top 20 D's this year. Everyone whines because the wins arent pretty and our final S0S is better than TCU, Osu and Baylor. All without the bed crapping loss like the other 3... I mean Osu lost to Va Tech!!!

They can all suck it.

Osu gets the brakes beaten off them by Bama, FSU beats the ducks because we have size and speed, and the team will finally be it's healthiest (been hurt all year).

Bama beats FSU in champ game.

I agree with the commitees picks, wish FSU and Ohio St could be swapped though to get Ohio St in the Rose and FSU back east. Though going to the Rose (granddaddy of them all) for the Seminoles isn't such a bad thing for them.

As it is, I think Alabama would have an easier time with FSU's lack of defense than Ohio St.'s 3rd string quarterback. Especially since Ohio St. won the last Sugar Bowl they were in (granted it was vacated), and the Tide has lost their last 2 (badly).

Maybe now the Big XII will support the ACC and SEC in going to a minimum 8.

Big XII didn't care about only 2 teams when undefeated Auburn got left out. But did when Ok. St. got left out, and then switched it's support from the BCS to a 4-team playoff. Maybe now they'll switch to supporting 8 (something the ACC & SEC have supports for years, even when they've befitted from current systems).

VT hasn't had a very good team since Micheal Vick was on it. And even back then it wasn't deep. OSU lost to a middle of the road ACC team.

We all see that this is moving to an expanded play off.

I say unless they go to campus site games until the championship then you can expect the split of division 1a within 5 years.

The five power conferences will be in one division, the rest in another.

The minor bowls will be dissolved, and unless the major ones are incorporated into the playoffs someway they will as well.

All said, college football as you know it is over. And I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Whatever happens the committee is a farce. Even if the four they picked are right (or close).

I hope Urban doesn't have another "heart attack" after getting rolled by Saban again.
Be nice now. We all know he left Florida because of the stress of coaching. Twice. Not that his cupboard was bare and he couldn't bare to lose in the SEC. Will Meyer quit for a third time after a Saban beat down? I guess that conference that the Buckees play in is so easy there is no stress.

i agree the teams should get to play at home just like the pros in the playoffs.

That's the only part of "like the pros" I want. I'm fine with four and the first round on campus.

Yeah we have a controversy this season. This season is an anomaly when you look at it.

I can't think of a season in the past 20 years when this many teams had a legit claim at what in the past would have been top 2. Top four puts two more in, and still leaves some with a legit claim.

That rarely happens.

perhaps the Committee should have laid out the rules more clearly. Apparently if you do not have a conference championship you can not get in. Either that or they were unwilling to face Baylor fans so they decided just to F both of them over. But I don't see how you are #3 one week then beat your opponent 55-3 and fall below #4 no matter what anyone else does. This is an admission of either a mistake or a misunderstanding of the rules to begin with. They said conference championships would be part of the equation but they didn't say they would penalize teams for not having one. And yet FSU squeak by again and remains in top 4, hell they even move up?
