How do Virginia and Vanderbilt rank so high? How do they get those recruits?

I would guess Virginia can be attributed to the new coaching staff.Maybe the state of Virginia is rich in talent as well this year. Not sure about Vandy.

Your a little late...;) Look back a page. He gave LSU the finger... AFTER he gave Indiana the finger after Indiana gave his brother the finger and benched him. LOL!

Gotta LOVE the drama.
Now he's got to worry about Brian Kelly giving him a foot in the ass if he doesn't perform as touted. :D LSU is set for QB the next two years. I'm sure the kid saw a lot of bench time the way Les Miles likes to play upperclassmen...unless he is a momma's boy like some of the articles indicate, then he has a whole other set of problems. ;)

DID you see his pic? He has momma's boy written all over it! LMAO! Maybe what the boy needs IS some competition.;)

Did you guys see that Bama fan "tea-bag" the passed out LSU fan? Despicable....

Arrested him on Wednesday. Looks like Auburn fans ratted him out...still pissed off about their oaks I imagine.

Police arrest Ala. man in post-BCS video - College Football - Rivals.com

An Alabama man was arrested late Wednesday in connection with a video appearing to show someone in a University of Alabama jacket abusing an unconscious Louisiana State University fan after Alabama beat LSU for the BCS football championship.Brian Downing, 32, of Smiths Station, Ala., was booked on charges of sexual battery and obscenity. He was videotaped Jan. 9 “placing his genitals on an LSU fan’s face. The LSU fan appears to be heavily inebriated and practically unconscious,” a police statement said. That videotape, the last minute of which shows a man in a red Alabama jacket simulating a sex act, went viral on the Internet.

When fanaticism goes too far, sordid side of sports exposed - NCAA Football - Sporting News

If you thought Harvey Updyke was stuck on stupid, we give you Brian Downing. The only difference: one idiot bragged about breaking the law in the name of Roll Damn Tide, and the other did it while his friends watched—and recorded—the sad event.
It’s so utterly disgusting and degrading, it’s not worth linking to the viral video. But know this: The entire four minutes and 48 seconds of infamy—and 30 seconds of one man exposing his genitalia and placing it on the face of another man—is rock bottom for the lunatic fringe of college football fans.
That it’s an Alabama fan doing it to an LSU fan—a passed-out LSU fan at a Krystal Burgers—in the early morning hours after the BCS National Championship Game, gives the sordid story legs. That an Auburn message board found Downing—who was never identified on the cell phone video—should give pause to every numbskull with grandiose ideas of their 15 minutes of fame.

He has a wife and kid, and was division manager of a sporting goods store (no...not Dick's ;)). Should've just stuck with the corndog cracks. Unbelievable that he'd go that far.
I would imagine massive amounts of alcohol were a major factor, but it is no excuse.
Assume cameras are on you everywhere, these days with smartphones, that's pretty much true.

Excellent article on recruits changing their mind about schools they "commit to".

Study decommitments of top 100 high school football recruits - Andy Staples - SI.com
Found this stat interesting...

Of the 500 players ranked in the Rivals100 for the classes of 2007 through 2011, 73 (14.6 percent) decomitted at some point during their recruitment . Of those, 62 (12.4 percent) ultimately signed with a school other than the one to which they originally committed.

I heard a sound clip of the LSU fan calling in to the Paul Finebaum show. Some redneck kid who didn't have tickets to the game, watched it on Bourbon St. in a bar somewhere with his girlfriend, and drank a helluva lot more than he's used to. His girlfriend, embarrassed by his behavior, left him passed out at Krystals in the French Quarter (where the infamous video was shot). He sounded more ashamed and humiliated by the whole thing than mad. He said an attorney contacted him, not the other way around. I got the impression that if it was left up to the victim to press charges on his own, he may not have. I think it's the ambulance chasers that are out for blood now. I know what they did was wrong, but I can't help feel a tiny bit sorry for both the teabagger and the teabaggee. One night of over-drinking and ignorance, now the poor bastards will have to deal with this for the rest of their lives.

Speaking of Harvey, looks like he turned down a plea deal of 13 years in prison and never attending a Crimson Tide sporting event for the rest of his life. Wonder which bothered him the most? ;)

I like what Barkley had to say about this...

"That's too much," Barkley said. "Is he an idiot? Of course, he's an idiot. You can't let him off for free. You give him a month in jail and make him donate money to Auburn. You can't put the guy in prison for 13 years. That's crazy."

And to think, before cell phone cameras, this would have happened and been over with the next day. LSU guy not knowing what happened, and the Alabama fans waking up saying, "DId that really happen, or was I just really really drunk?"

ANd no one else would have known or cared........

This camera crazy world is getting scary. VERY scary.

Yeah, 13 years in prison for that is crazy.
Im not defending him at all, and he should have to pay a penalty, but good lord. Make the punishment fit the crime. That is going over board with emotion driven rage.
