Don't worry, state won't be ranked. I do see yall dipping into sec territory in the future though. Just not with sec schools. Troy and south Alabama should provide hearty competition.

So since 08, Bamas OOC schedule has included (big names by year) Clemson, Va Tech, Penn State with a home and home, and Michigan with a neutral. Our upcoming includes Va Tech once again, West Va with a neutral, Michigan State with a home and home (twice in big ten country in the past few years), and Ga Tech with a home and home.

We also play our considerable conference schedule year in and year out. I would stack that against anyone. Yeah we do have our cupcakes, but to mention only them, and leave out the rest is a stretch to make the argument at best. I will wager a shiny new nickle I can find cupcakes on every schedule of any fans team here.
Very much agree, however, generally the sec fan leaves out the fact that not EVERY team in the sec is a top 10 team.

You are right, and that's terrible. Its only almost half of them that are in the top ten (well over half of the top ten, but not half the conference ).

exactly, along with ignoring the fact they play so many FCS teams. more than most other conferences
on the other hand, every team in the conference played at least two current top ten teams along with whatever else schedule they had.

Pretty sure the SEC didn't force Michigan to play there. This is laughable if this is the argument.

Nah, thats not the argument ... I actually thought that Michigan played at Bama, my point was that the sec rarely ever goes out of thier immediate area to play a game.
Now that A&M is in the conference, they will at least have to travel a little ...

Considering that bama alone has or had a home and home with two big 10 schools that would seem to be invalid wouldn't it ? I haven't seen where any other conference does it moreso yet.

Now see this thread was going great today, talking about some great games and then the self anointing wanna be kings of football down south realized nobody was talking about them in a positive light (so whats new ???) and they just had to jump in and derail it. :drama: :D

Of course it could also be the fact the shorthorn offense is making for a bad viewing experience right now too. :D

come on bring on TCU/Michigan St, I've become bored with the shorthorns

edit: of course texas scores now to make it interesting again

Having it on their schedule for 2017 is because they know they are probably going to get penalized for playing the type of schedule they do now when the pseudo playoff starts. I think having more than one fcs school on your schedule will not endear anyone on a selection committee no matter how tough one thinks their conference schedule might be.

We will see, the games I mentioned have been scheduled for a while, probably like your pokes games against the might Troy Trojans, USA Jaguars, the goliaths from Lamar, ect....and so on.

Actually I think I took the thread off topic, should have been in the normal College Football thread.

our ooc is adjusted every 2 years now. 1st Realignment forced some games to be pushed, then further realignment and 9 conference games forced some more fiddling. Holder tried to keep 2 games locked down and leave space for a neutral site addition like Miss St in Houston next year and FSU in Dallas in 2014.

Gundy doesn't like giving up a home game for the neutral site game, but Holder wants the money and exposure, so I imagine some of these games contracts will get pushed a year or so as he adds more lucrative neutral site ooc games and unfortunately placates Gundy with a more relaxed home schedule until fans stop paying to see those games.

Well by that measure, some OOC teams that are not now in the top ten, were when played by the SEC team.

Thats where the confusion comes in with the Played a Top Ten team.

Some people go by where they are when you played them (I am one of them), others look at it at the end of the season and say, well you didn't play anyone in the top 10, if they are no longer in the top ten at the end of the season, which is wrong.

ND was not in the top 20 when the season started, but they are quite a bit better now.

It all depends on how you want to look at it.

I think they should get rid of these "Neutral" site game when they are IN Season.

All they do is line the owner of the sites pockets.
