NCAA Football 2009-10 Season

That blog is an interesting read, thanks. (Comments to it are funny, too!) That is not what I heard, though, heard it was Dooley that didn't want GT back in SEC, although it may well have been both.
Originally I heard it was UGa that blocked it, but decided to fact check after I posted, and found that blog. Probably was both teams that teamed together to block the move.

Alabama because of the Bryant-Dodd feud, and Georgia to keep instate competition out of SEC recruiting.

Well, the Jackets "high school" offense rolled up 56 points on an SEC team (granted it was Vanderbilt). Unfortunately our defense (or lack thereof) allowed way too many points. With Wake, Duke, and Georgia (who actually has a worse defense) left, things look good.
But with Clemson (who played a close game earlier this year) looming in the ACCCG, things could change, unless we learn to actually play defense.

Another thought, considering what Alabama did last year, and Florida this year, it's time for Georgia to bury the black uniforms.

classy play by Florida

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
I detest Alabama but I'm almost to the point where I'll pull for them assuming it Bama/FU in the SEC title game*

*LSU would go if they beat Bama Saturday and win out

Id love to say how great a win it was this weekend for FLA and how well we played. But GA's Defense sucks so bad I dont know if FLA played really good, or GA just really sucked..

Also to the USC fans. Go home, your team is done. Now you can stop complaining about not being in the fight for the title game.

IU has perfected "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" this season. Two weeks in a row when they held a substantial lead and managed to lose both games. :(

UConn has them beat there. 2 weeks in a row where we take a late lead, only to lose it.

We have 4 losses by a combined 12 points.

These polls really mean nothing, now that the BSC polls are out for the year, are they not updated till Monday ?

and the "Official BCS Poll" should be renamed "BS Poll" until the Roaches (aka Coaches) and Harris polls are omitted entirely from the calculations. The models used for some of the computer "polls" may be somewhat (choke, gag, choke) suspect, but they at least are not as utterly worthless and biased as the Harris and Roaches polls are.

For a good laugh, check out the article at: Move to secret ballots decreases integrity of coaches' poll - ESPN

Note my spelling in my post, BSC poll.

That said, NO ONE knows where these come from, there are 7 computers around the country calculating this stuff, the computer is only as smart as the person who programmed it.

These guys have the ability to have anyone they want in the MNC game (of the top 10-15, as long as the team wins) they can move them around at will.

It looks like these guys want to see Texas vs. someone in the MNC then. Don't see how anyone in the Big12 is going to beat them from here on out (of course that was also said about OU in 2003). It'll be interesting to see who the opponent will be now that their precious USC is out of the hunt, especially if there winds up being too much bloodshed in the SEC these last few games.

One thing about the BCS, it's almost always interesting. ;)

There were at least three caroms on that play before Sash grabbed it. Definitely an ugly win (again). It has to say something positive about the character of your team when they give up six turnovers and have a nine-yard punt against a team you should dominate and they still manage to win. How about the faith the team and coaches must have in Stanzi to stay with him after that horrendous third quarter (first three quarters, really)? In the end, they are 9–0.

OSU may take them down, but I wouldn't count them out against anybody until the game is over. They are capable of winning every game left in front of them.

Agreed.

This Iowa team just doesn't give up. They certainly are one resilient team. This is undoubtedly a testament to their cool and collective head coach, Kirk Ferentz. Until they prove otherwise, Iowa is the team to beat in the Big-10.

Cincy continues to be screwed by the Coaches' Poll, which has them at 7.

The fix is in.
As long as Florida and Texas remain undefeated, then everyone is screwed.

The following are the undefeated teams:
Florida - SEC
Texas - Big 12
Alabama - SEC
TCU - Mountain West
Boise State - Big West
Iowa - Big 10
Cincinnati - Big East

The current placements are pretty much results of the pre-season rankings (or lack thereof) and conference strength.

Unfortunately for Cincinnati, they don't have many arguments to be ranked above any of the undefeated teams above them.

The schedules the teams have played makes a big difference too. Most of the teams above Cincinnati have bigger wins.
Boise St beat Oregon (the likely Pac10 champ).
Florida beat LSU
Iowa beat Penn St.

All bunk. You're just as bad as the Coaches'.

Boise St has beaten Oregon and the seven dwarfs. Pfffffft. Oregon has gotten too much credit for beating up a pretty weak Pac10 (USC has fallen off, Cal has fallen off, etc etc etc)

Iowa's clock just has to strike midnight soon. They stink. If not for a bogus reversal from replay, they likely lose to a PUTRID IU squad. Beating Penn St isn't all that impressive.

I really think that it's a coin flip between TCU and Cincy. Either one could overtake Texas by virtue of Texas' awful (and getting worse) computer numbers. Of course, that won't happen, because the pollsters will vault a Texas team whose best win might be against a 5-3 OU team (OK St is also getting too much credit for a win over Georgia).

I'm just getting tired of these springboard games having too much impact. Last year it was Alabama crushing what ended up being a very mediocre Clemson team, but it shot them up the polls. This year, it's USC winning over OSU (again), and Boise St winning a home game against Oregon in week 1.

Wasn't it just a couple of years ago that Kirk Ferentz was all but finished in Iowa?

They're the flavor of the week right now. They aren't #4 in the country good. Trust me.
I'm with you on that, but if you just look at their results, not the scores or anything else, Iowa is impressive. They have 3 quality wins right now over Arizona, Penn St and Wisconsin. That's better than Florida and Alabama right there.
