NCAA Football 2009-10 Season

What if Washington has improved? That means LSU isn't that shaky and Florida's schedule isn't as weak.

Guess it all depends on what teams you hate to see win. ;)

You could make the argument that Bama's latest rankings run is mainly from a since-proven-overstated bump from a win over a pretty crappy Clemson team last year.

Compare Bama to Ole Miss over the same period, and you'll see what I mean.

I agree wholeheartedly. Look at what Bama did in the Sugar and Ole Miss in the Cotton. LSU was not a good team last year and had they any semblance of a QB would've beaten Bama instead of lossing in OT. Ole Miss, a long time LSU rival, came into Tiger Stadium and beat LSU easily. I've always believed Bama's high rankings most of last season were largely due to the reputations of Bama and Saban, and the cycle of the SEC schedules right now. I think the same scenario may play out again this year when it's all said and done. You have Florida, then the rest of the SEC. You never know what will happen though.

Perception is huge in the polls. That's why there needs to be a playoff system. At least conference championships weed out the unworthy in most cases.

Every year is different. There are improved teams this year, Florida might have become worse. But if they aren't scheduling anyone good, we don't know if they are a joke or not until the last 2 games of the season.

Not to mention FLA returned all 12 of its Starters on Defense. Including one of hte nations best Line Backers in Brandon SPikes.. FLA lost a little on offense but its defense is still in the top 5 in the nation . (I think foxsports ranks it number 6 though)

Also note FLA has the without a doubt #1 quaterback in college (now that Bradford is gone there really is no doubt, Mccoy is good but hes no teabow) Also the fastest running back in College in Demps, and Rainy is also a leading running back..

If we are baseing the starting rankings on potential FLA carried over their national title team with little loss.

Specially to anyone other then someone in the SEC championship game. I mean FLAs schedule is rather weak they better run the tables. Take nothing away though from rivalries like LSU, GA and a very much improved FSU team. Rivalries can still get ya even if on paper you have the way better team.

and yes if you thought I was bad last year, you aint seen nothing yet :)

Bama is overrated (like last year) Ole Miss though the only team who beat the gators last year, are not a slouch. They are underrated and I wouldnt be surprised if they face UF in the SECCG.

No wonder Florida is so good on D. They start 12 players! :p

'That extra player helps alot youd be surprised :)

on that note they also returned 7 starters on offense.

You're going to be insufferable this year, aren't you?:D

One helluva team you have down there. It's going to crush you if they lose.

Yup,
On hell of a team.
They start 12 guy's on D, so the other team doesn't score much, then ....
They only put 7 guy's on offense !!!!!

They are REALLY dynamic on the offense , scoring all them points with only 7 guy's..... they will definately go down as the most explosive Offense in history , playing with just the 7 guy's :D

Very impressive !

Wow, I would flip that. I just do not understand the hype with Ole Miss.
They had a decent season last year. Solid wins over florida (which should not have happened) and T. Tech (who I also did not think was as good as most).
Now all of the sudden they are a top 10 team?
Who knows, they may be, I just see them falling flat.

Week 2: College Gameday

And the stage for this week's College Gameday??? You guessed it......

Where are anders and hancox? I thought they would be trash talking heading into Saturday's game. :)

We've spent the better part of 6 months trash-talking, at least at a conference level.

This game stands on merit. We need a big ranked scalp. They need a road BCS OOC win (as does their whole #%@#%@#% conference, but I digress).

I'm spent. I'm too psyched about this game. Bring on the Heels...

But does a win against the Big East really count? ;):D

Seriously though, whether a team is a member of a BCS conference or not means nothing. Each team stands on it's own merits. Just ask Oklahoma and Alabama.

Oh come on.

The ACC has 1 win over a I-A OOC team at the moment, and that's mighty Middle Tenn. St. This isn't OU vs BYU. It's not even UConn over Ohio U. It's the dregs of your conference losing to I-AA teams, and everyone else just losing (or beating I-AA teams) :)

We've gotten our shots in. I prefer to take the high road anyway. Why bring up the fact that we crushed UConn last year 38-12? Why talk about the 3 blocked punts we had that night? Or the fact that our defense is likley better than last year, and UConn's best players are now in the NFL. Such trash talking is beneath me anyway. I'll let the game speak for itself. :D:D:D

Can Clemson stop the three-headed monster at GT tonight? I think GT's offense is going to be better now that those guys have a year under their belts.
