NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

I agree. I will also add that is offcially time to demand that Coach Rod be fired and sent back to WV!

LOL. You guys are finally starting to see the light.

I realize the spread offense requires your own personnel to run properly, but why can't R-Rod mix in some other offensive plays to complement the players he has now, then slowly work on moving towards his coveted scheme?

Tubberville better watch out. Honestly, he deserves a pass considering the success he has had, but I can see him gone at the end of the season

Some of their games look brutal:

West Virginia- Pat White will be ready for that game- that could get really ugly. WVU can score in bunches and I'm sure you know my feelings on the Auburn offense

Ole Miss- That is NOT a gimme. Just ask Tim Tebow.

Tennessee-Martin- This is, IMO, their one easy opponent.

Georgia- Yikes.

Alabama- They are going to get demolished. I don't care if it's a big rivalry- that offense is so awful and Bama will destroy them.

OTOH, if they lose to Tennessee-Martin... it could happen. They could lose every game the rest of the way!

A coach has been fired!

The heads are rolling early: Tommy Bowden fired at Clemson - Dr. Saturday - NCAA Football - Rivals.comhttp://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday

I thought Ty Willingham would be the first gone, given how Washington may be the worst team in the country.

Tommy Bowden's Clemson teams are the definition of 'underachievers.'

Great talent, but can't live up to the hype.
That is going to be one expensive buyout. Bowden got a $3 million extension just last year. And Clemson thinks they will land someone like Nick Saban on top of that? Get real. Serves them right. Clemson's the biggest bunch of posers in college football this side of Lubbock.

Clemson's worse, IMO.

Leach can at least boast of big wins (Texas in 2002, Oklahoma in 2005 and 2007)- does Bowden have ANY signature wins?

Clemson QB's are supposed to be great- Cullen Harper was SUPPOSED to be a Heisman contender- he couldn't carry Graham Harrell's jockstrap.

I once said Texas Tech doesn't choke against creampuffs- Clemson's had a history of losing to inferior teams. Remember, Tech BEAT Nebraska- Clemson loses those games.

I think I can speak for most Auburn fans by saying the sooner this season is over, the better. Honestly, I'm ready to pull for 'bama to get a shot at the MNC. Auburn's season is already done, we might as well keep the MNC in the SEC for a third year.

As to Tubby...while I'm not happy with the decisions he's made this year, you can't argue with his past success. Look at 2003 and 2004. '03 was pretty bad. So much so that Tubs nearly lost his job. The next year, he found a good OC and we had a perfect season that was only marred by the fact we got left out of the title game. Who's to say he can't do the same next year. I say give him one more year and then if things don't improve, make a change.

Well Clemson's been posers for a lot longer than Texas Tech. Ever since their ill gotten NC in 1981 they've thought that they are an elite program in college football. They're not. Clemson hasn't even won an ACC Championship since 1991.

Ill-gotten?

I'm not a Clemson fan, but they did run the table. They didn't unfairly get into the title game like Nebraska in 2001.

B.C. is doing a decent job without Matt Ryan. 4-1, and the only loss is to a very good Georgia Tech team.

Do you see them staying strong this year, Billy?

They're a tough team to figure out.

On one hand, their four wins have come against Kent St., Central Florida, Rhode Island and NC State, but they lost to Georgia Tech, 19-16 after leading most of the game.

Chris Crane has been a pleasant surprise replacing Ryan.

Crane was named ACC player of the week last week.

We'll know more about the Eagles the next four weeks, starting Saturday night at The Heights vs. Virginia Tech.

Following that game, BC goes to North Carolina, and then hosts Clemson and Notre Dame.

Is there a chance that Washington's Huskies could go winless?

I see it happening- Locker's hurt and they have a murderous schedule.

Remember how I said the Utah/BYU game could be the epicenter of the sports universe if both teams are unbeaten?

Well, the annual 'Apple Cup' could be a real pillow fight.
