NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Ok, this thread will be unstuck and the Bowl thread will take it's place.

After that Ole Miss loss (that is NOT a bad loss, BTW), he said these now-immortal words:

"You will never see any player in the entire country who will play harder than I will play the rest of the season. And you will not see someone push the rest of the team as hard as I will push everybody for the rest of the season and you will never see a team play harder than we will the rest of the season."

Well, he certainly has backed it up to this point.

The talking heads are saying that if Florida wins the MNC, this speech will be immortalized next to the Knute Rockne, "Win one for the Gipper" speach.

 Tebow is an entirely different type of player than White was. Not even get a tryout in the NFL? Unless he goes the way of Roberto Clemente before he graduates, I think we'll see him in the NFL soon enough. :up

TeBow may get a tryout, but heart only gets you so far in the NFL. His skill set of running the option/spread doesn't equate well to the NFL.

Who to root for ......
Florida or Oklahoma .... Hmmmm

Always been a Urban fan, not nessasarily a Gator fan...
Oklahoma is worse than the Bucks in recent bowl games..... hmmm.

Both teams determined to run up the scores, don't care for that...

I'll probably root for Florida, all though I dislike the SEC.

Lots of time to change my mind.

Jimbo

I'll go with Oklahoma in this one.

I can't stand how SEC fans think they're part of a good ol' boys cool kids only club. Annoying as hell.

You just don't like that they are always good. :D

Id of prefered Alabama vs Texas...

And why does a two loss OSU get a BCS game over 2 undefeated teams?

tOSU got in over 1 undefeated team, not two. Boise St. is the only other undefeated team not to get a BCS Bowl. Going undefeated in the WAC is not that impressive these days. Can you honestly say that you would like to see a Boise St. vs. Texas game instead of an OSU vs. Texas game? Come on.

If guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick, Dan Orlovsky, Sage Rosenfelds, Seneca Wallace, Troy Smith, JP Losman, ect..... can stay on rosters and even start occasionally so can Tebow. His QB skill set is far superior to any of those.

I am not saying he will be a superstar but he will be a productive NFL quarterback.

Those guys all suck, no doubt, but I think Tebow's future is in the booth with Jesse Palmer. Who knows maybe he will get to be The Bachelor too? :D

OU just hit 60.
YIPPY

So scoring 60 points in a football game must be the new standard, eh.
That only means that your Defense SUCKS enough that you get the ball right back enough to SCORE 60 points.

Like I said before, a real coach would never allow his first string to be in the game a d scoring with a 30 point lead going in to the 4th quarter.

Many teams would be chastized for RUNNING UP THE SCORE, but not these guys ...

Huh no it would mean your defense is good enough to keep getting your offense the ball.

You mean we're not? Damn...well then, can I join your "If you're tired of your team getting it's ass kicked only club?" ;) :D

Thanks cybok. How about that win yesterday? Brought back memories of 2 out of 3 Superbowls past didn't it? ;)

Don't worry. Judging by the LSU's' record this season, your Tigers should be first on the list of invitees.

The SEC is like a doorknob, everyone gets a turn. Call me after your team is expected to compete year in and year out.
