NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Texas holds off OKState.

Next week is THE showdown game- it is ON next week!

Texas has to leave the comforting environments of Austin and go into Lubbock, where defenses go to die!

Sorry Sabresrule,
Today's win did nothing to convince me that they have played anyone.
Kansas was barely ranked at 23.
When they play a team that if they lose will not leave the rankings, then I'll talk about them...
Ala, next week. Texas loses and they will still be ranked.

Looking at thier schedule, they play #1, #6, and #4 ....

Thats BRUTAL

will they go 1-2 or 2-1 or 0-3 or 3-0 ????

If they go 2-1 , I would be happy for you :)

What a year for Rich Rodriguez;

First loss to a MAC team in school history

First loss to Penn State this century (Last loss prior to last week came in 1996)

First loss to Michigan State in seven years

I will be the first to say this- they will LOSE in Minnesota! Michigan has not lost there since 1976- this HAS to be the year.

I hear an angry chant at the end of the Sparty/UM game while Sean McDonough's reviewing the Allstate standings.

What exactly are they saying?
I heard it too. I think there's going to be some fights in Ann Arbor tonight. That's why I love rivalries.

Random thoughts on today's early action:

1. I wouldn't be surprised if Minnesota runs the table and finishes 11-1

2. Michigan has lost to a MAC team for the first time ever, Penn State for the first time since 1996, and Sparty for the first time since 2001. I don't see them beating the Gophers in Minnesota!

3. Texas Tech is capable of beating Texas. The Longhorns have had a history of getting burned by red-hot quarterbacks.

4. The mystique of LSU in Death Valley is gone- it's one thing to lose in OT (Tennessee in 2005, Arky last year) but this shows me that they are not capable of beating Bama

5. The ACC Championship game will be very interesting, for we don't know who's capable of making it there

Florida St. beats Virginia Tech.

Updated ACC standings:

Other than Duke, Clemson, or NC State, ANYONE can get that coveted Orange Bowl spot!

Thoughts on the early Saturday Games:

1.The Big XII logjam goes on for another week with Texas at Texas Tech the showdown next week.

2. Vanderbilt still stuck on 5 wins! Guess no one told the mensa club you need 6 wins to be bowl eligable. :)

3. Another fine week for the Big East and ACC....does anyone want to win these conferences.

4. Good timing for Rich Rodriguez to finally sign the contract.

5. Survivor SEC votes LSU off the island. :)

HOW BOUT THEM RED RAIDERS?!

BTW, Hitachi- you getting SCARED? You have to go ON THE ROAD to Lubbock, where defenses go to die!
Well since TEXAS is the number 1 team in the nation! Maybe not after today's embarrassing win! Since they are still playing in the state of TEXAS i really don't see the road game being that big of a problem? Hopefully Texas plays like we all know they can and leave Lubbock with a WIN!:up Anyway great win today. Good LUCK the next three weeks, because this is what great teams dream about!

HOOKEM HORNS!!!:hungry:
