LOL. Win win win!!!
They've been that way for years. Sometimes I think they just stay ranked because of Spurrier.
Baylor up 21-20 by the way. Starting to come to life with a vengeance. And that's just the first quarter.
How is it that when Bama plays the teams they do, other than the top 2 in the sec that they palyed a tough schedule when OSU and FSU schedules are no worse.
Bama ends up playing a few more tough teams, but they are hardly playing a tough team every week.
Good teams they have played this year :
Texas A&M, LSU ... Auburn upcoming ...
Lousy teams they have played :
VT, Colorado State, Georgia State, Kentucky, Tennessee, Miss. State (in progress) and the world beater Chattanooga next week.
I would say that thier schedule isn't really any tougher than the rest.
Theres a feeling in the country that the sec plays such a tough and difficult schedule every week.
Most play 2-3 tough games a year.
That may be 1 more than the Buckeyes play this year, but it's hardly head and shoulders above the other conferences.
As for FSU, I don't know the ACC teams as well, but if I look at the schedule that FSU plays, heres what I see.
Looks like FSU , Clemson and Duke are the main top teams this year.
Good teams they have played:
Clemson
Miami ... was ranked at the time, struggling since, ala Northwestern.
So so and lousy teams:
Pitt, Nevada, Bethune-Cookman, BC ( not great, not lousy), same for Maryland, although both thier conference records are lousy., NC State, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Idaho next week and a very down Florida team to end the schedule.
Ohio State
Good teams they played:
Wisconsin
Michigan State (upcoming in BT Championship game)
Northwestern (was undefeated when they played, lousy since then.)
So So and lousy teams:
Buffalo, (although Buffalo is having a good season and 2nd in the MAC with a 7-3 record)
San Diego State (replacement for Vandy I believe), Cal (was a top 10 team when Scheduled), Florida A&M (another replacement for a team that backed out), Iowa (no different than the sec 6-4 teams that are not good, but not despicable), Penn State (another 6-4 avg team, many expected to be much worse) Purdue Lousy team, Illinois , next week Indiana and then Michigan.
Then the Big Ten Championship against probably Michigan State
I was obviously able to give input on the BT teams as I see them regularly.
You just want to save Will Muschamps job. Trying to sabotage us lol
If you count OSU upcoming game you should count Alabamas upcoming game against SEC east champ as well...
But I do agree with you that the parity between the top schedules is not mind boggling. They are close, but clearly Alabama has the edge of the 4 undefeateds right now.
LOL. I think he is OK, Im not so sure about your OC.
And I still stand by the fact they are the litmus test. Somebody needs to show up and beat em to change things. Bama has slow starts, but they adjust and do well in the second half. If FSU is able to play them for a NC, Id hope they could put pts up quick and get a sustainable lead, because our run D isnt the best and we still have a freshmeat QB. Hard to figure out though when you have 30+ days off and its two teams that dont normally play.
LOL. In two weeks we will know!
The SEC has sent 9 teams to the BCS title game and never lost. They have certainly earned the benefit of the doubt. Alabama has done it what 2 times in a row now? So until someone puts them on there back they deserve to stay wherever they are.
I agree 100% about Bama. Someone has to bloody their nose to change things. Now as far as the rest of the SEC, I think they are weaker as a whole this year than they have been in awhile. Im a 100% ACC/SEC guy, so I hate seeing teams like UM and UF struggling. As much as I dislike TN, Id like to see them get back to the good ol days.
Jimbo, Im with ya. I think the SoS is such a skewed opinionated thing. Im glad to know next year we will be using a playoff system. Id like to see it expanded to 6 or 8 teams down the road, then this silliness gets sorted out. Right now, its a popularity contest.
