NCAA 2009-2010 The Bowls

and its a valid excuse.. But thats just how the game is..

Not that early it isnt. It changes offense, it doesnt change defense.

Prepare for that. I wil admit, that would be huge, for either team, but you have to prepare for that.

It is though, just how the game is. Could have been, and still could be us. Shouldnt be an excuse though.

Offense for sure, but for the defense it's up to the coaches to avoid the emotional letdown that looks like is happening

Its not just a let down. A defense has to play different down 24 then down 7. Whys that? Because the other teams offense changes. instead of taking risk the team ahead gets conservative. Makes it harder for the losing teams defense to get the ball back. When a team is down they make risky plays making it easier for defense.

right now it looks like Texas lost this one, but if they can get a miracle they could still win it, and i just don't see a miracle happening, and Colt, put a big bow tie on his NCAA career, it's over, he's not gonna return in the second half, and he's NFL bound in the coming months, so thanks for everything Colt, and we just might as well congrats UT for getting this far, but we shouldn't made this game after the way we played in the Big XII championship game.

At half, ANYTHING can happen. If we can score them at half, YOU can. I wouldnt count yourself out yet.

Also note with a weak offense now Texas Defense will be on the field a lot more, meaning they will wear out a lot faster then the Bama D

That might be the dilemma for the second half but the way the defense played in the first half seemed to change once they realized McCoy was out for at least the half. The announcers noticed the same thing.

They fear the speed of the SEC. They dont want to get the ball caught.

I think it has nothing to do with SEC speed, Texas has PLENTY of speed.

Issue is, the Freshman QB is having a hard time with the speed of the college game, he's played very little this year and now has gotten thrown into this game when he figured he'd be watching all along.

fwiw, is this the guy that Texas is counting on next year to run the show seeing that Colt is gone ?

I agree. That comes into play later. Not to begin with..at least not in my opinion.

Thats true, Texas has speed. I dont lay it all on a fresh QB though. He is on the team, although it is a huge adjustment.

Your right, the O line has to play MUCH better as well.
If the kid had ANY time, he might be doing a bit better.

Neither O lone is pass blocking very well tonight ...

ONside Kick, Texas gets it.

I really don't know if he slipped and drilled the Bama player or if it was intended that way.
Never seen it where you try to drill the guy, would have been going a very short distance and possibly out of bounds had it not hit him.
