NBA Lockout Thread

There's been rumblings that the greedy basketball players will be double dipping on a European team come this winter if the NBA is still on a strike.

How are they greedy when the owners offer the salary? IF you boss offers you a major salary increase...are you gonna say NO? Does the "greedy basketball players" tell the fans 'you better build me a house or I am gonna take my ball and play elsewhere'?

It's so funny...if the NFL misses even one game there will be many people suffering MAJOR trauma. If the NBA doesn't start the season, most people won't even care until football season ends.

This was not intended for you and we were talking about the Heat.. but since you decided to comment, we are not commenting fan support...all those games were sold out and seat were occupied...but don't be sore because you lost in 5. There are good decent Celtic fans on this forum...don't be the ugly Celtic fan.

Sniff, Sniff....
i love my heat my friend but honestly the fans here suck ass. the fans in dallas, those are fans. you can see and especially hear the difference compared to the Heat fans. the heat deserved better than that. you are a good fan. i saw "new" heat fans this year i never saw before. too many casual fans down here. if that makes sense hehe.... i apologize for going off topic. hopefully the NBA and NFL will be locked out for the whole new season:eek:. you don't see all the wonderful sports topics we have here and on espn without these two leagues??? open your eyes :eek::p:D

Yeah....but.... When the NFL season is over...there is nothing that really goes on until around mid-march...maybe early April when the OTAs start..ironically, just when the players were locked out. ALSO, the NFL owners bank HEAVILY from preseason games....NBA owners do not. With the NBA, it's more or less the same...after the Finals are done, NOTHING really happens until around August...right smack dab in the middle of the free agnecy signing period. The owners locked the players out when free agency started....a little early.

We will see what happens when September rolls around.

And that my friend, is why the Dolphins have the following they have. HOW long have the Dolphins been around as compared to the Heat, Marlins and Panthers?

Thanks for being a realist, it is refreshing.

Doesn't address my point...football fans will be in panic mode if one regular season game is missed. If the NBA doesn't start their regular season, not many people will care until football season is over.

I always felt like Miami is the Dolphins, just like Phoenix is the Suns. It feels like the other teams were forced on them, should of just left well enough alone.

* better have that sh!t cleaned up for their opening Monday Night butt-whopping.:D:):p

Ok...but now you are playing Monday morning QB. With the HUGE latin american community we live in and the huge influx of latin american ballplayer in the Majors, especially coming from the D.R. and Venezuela...this would have been a slam dunk. But, with all the baseball fans from other areas living here...you could see it coming. Had the roles been reversed, Marlins here before the Dolphins...I would image it would be a different story.

Look who owned the team... LOL! The same could be said about the 1997 Marlins...ironically, the same owner...

The Panthers remind me of Jack Kent Cooke, who owned one of the Californa teams who had trouble drawing. He said he was told there were so many Canadians who were now living out there. When the team didn't draw he said 'Now I know why they moved here...they hate hockey'
