NBA 2013 off-season discussion thread

Go Rockets!!Used to like them as a kid,the twin towers was must see tv for me.Then came Hakeem and Drexler.I hope Howard does well for the Rockets, chances are he will do no more than he did for the Lakers.

I never thought I'd say this, but LeBron's Decision suddenly doesn't look so bad by contrast to the Dwightmare.

when this whole thing started dwight wasn't even a free agent. so he got the coach and GM fired at orlando, still leaves them via trade, as a free agent on 2013
leaves the lakers talking trash about the coach and kobe. ALMOST backs out of his decision to go to houston but doesn't. I'd say it's REALLY different. lebron being a free agent was within his right to go elsewhere after giving the cavs 7 years of top notch basketball play. so yes he made an ass of himself for calling on so much attention to his decision where at the end all the $$$$$ went to needy kids. wow what an as*****e........

this guy howard is a just an immature punk who i imagine must have someone in his life make all his decisions for him since obviously he lacks the capability. hell of a difference!

Howard proves there is a ME in TEAM. AM totally against the "power" management give their star athletes over their coaches.

Anywho, he's a selftish nut case (IMO), this saga will resurrect itself next year if Houston fails to make the playoffs.

I wonder if Jeremy Lin will end up with the Lakers because of sign & trade thanks to Howard? Didn't Lin get his start under D'antoni?

If am the Lakers management, to hell with a sign and trade. You want to leave buddy, there's the door, use it and dont expect us to help fetch you an extra 10%.

Lakers with Kobe, Nash and Gasol is still good enough to attract some qualiy free agents.

Cheers, K

I wonder if this saga would have ended differently if the Lakers would have hired Jackson instead.

My gosh, how will the nba survive without the Lakers and Celtics being the stars for the next few years? Kobe is just as bad as Howard imo.He can't retire soon enough for me.

As a Celtics fan I'm obviously not a Lakers fan, but I must say this: the Lakers are much better off without this primma donna!

Prediction: the Lakers will win another NBA championship before Dwightmare (thanks Sabres, I like that!) ever wins one!

Not if sabres makes that same prediction :D

I'm inclined to view Howard like Pat Ewing. Ewing played hard but not smart. I remember one former coach of Ewing's said in an interview that to get the most out of Ewing, you had to avoid his weakness, which was, thinking. He said you could design a play that he was the finisher on, or have him set the screen or have him position for a rebound, but what you didn't want was to have a point in the play where he has to choose between doing different things.

Whenever I think of the knicks, this picture comes to mind.

Yea,I'm sure it would have ended differently had the Lakers hired Phil.I can recall him saying that Howard, was better than Lebron, just a few years ago.I'm sure it was meant as a rub to Lebron but,Phil did believe in Howard.

Dwight is gone
we are sexed,Kobe when he comes back will be 85% at best. Stern killed us with the Paul deal. it will be sad times fellows, to top it off we have Jimmy the hard head. when he sells the team things will Start to get better.that could be 5-7 years from now when TWC tighten the screws on him.

could be dead by then.
