NASCAR 2017

Sooo.. not many 10 fans here... lol.. I just gotta say I didn't see her interview like that.. she looked scared as hell to me. Look if you wanna carve her for lack of results in NASCAR have at it, but keep in mind... they're all people inside those helmets, her and Joey were likely both in a state of shock on some level after that, and Danica has had at least one friend and fellow competitor die following a crash. There is little doubt in my mind, she was very concerned for Aric as everyone was/is. She's also been in many high speed scary looking wrecks that totally were not her fault. I'd be questioning my luck as well... Go 88!
I don't dislike Danica but she brings alot of it on herself.
IF, she ran up front, she wouldn't get in a lot of the wrecks she does ... lots of bad air as well as lesser racers usually in the back.

Sadly Jr. will be gone next year ... off to home renovations ...

Like I said previously, Jr. lost quite a bit of desire when his Dad died.

I'm a big time Danica hater. Outside of the pole at the Daytona 500, she has done absolutly nothing in NASCAR and has some of the best equipment in the sport, with a well funded team and has not taken advantage of it. It's not just that she's a beyond terrible driver, it's that she's a whiny brat who thinks the world owes her something. Everything is about her, all the time. Her attitude is the biggest turn off.

I'm not the only one who noticed Princess SparklePony's pity party of an interview from last week

She's not a total bust through. Gotta love that scrunched up sourpuss face at the Awards Banquet a few years ago, when Jay Mohr spoke the truth about her.

SHR needs to go down to three cars next year and re-focus. Just like Roush went down to two.

Interesting changes announced for the 2018 schedule. One of the biggest race realignments in some time.
  • Indy moved to last race before the Chase (lipstick on a pig, IMO)
  • Richmond moved into the Chase
  • New Vegas second date will be the new Chase opener (replacing New Hampshire, which goes back to one race)
  • Charlotte Fall Race in the Chase will now be run using the infield road course.
The last one is potentially my favorite. Shame they waited till after my boy Smoke retired to get a new road course and/or one in the Chase, but still glad to see it. That might actually get me to go back to Charlotte for a race again.

Yes, its sad all the good road racers are about gone now ... this leaves a race that Cryel Busch will be expected to win.

Not a road course fan but I think Kyle Larson wins tomorrow.
Early last year, I looked at a few racers I wanted to start following .... now that many are moving on .. (use to follow all the Hendricks guy) I chose Chase Elliot and Kyle Larson as two that I tough were young and at the time, not established (really not established now, but people now know who they are) ... so far so good.

Been a Kyle Larson fan ever since that truck race at Eldora 2? years ago ;)
Unfortunately, I don't often get a chance to watch them in the other levels ... is it Nationwide still, I watched more when it was the Busch and the Grand Nationals (think thats right, been a long time.)

Not anymore. Nowadays, the title sponsor is Comcast's Xfinity brand, hence its just called the "Xfinity Series" now. I'm kinda the same way about not watching the lower series much anymore...I quit watching them back when basically all the Nationwide/Xfinity races turned into the weekly Kyle Busch Invitational.

Nowadays, with the exception of a small handful of standalone events, they are most all won by Cup drivers.

Thanks for sharing the video ...

Dale was much better when he drove the # 8.
After his Dad passed away I believe he lost his focus and desire, I don't believe he ever raced as well after Sr. passed.

Thats unfortunate as he had a lot of good years, but never as good as many expected.

After this weekend, no more Lil Ralphie, no more Kamikaze and no more Dan-I-Can't, I can't wait for 2018! Next year the only ones I'll have to boo and hate on are Cryle and Clyde.

Welp...another year in the books. Obviously I was hoping for Kevin today, but hard for anybody to not be happy for Truex and the 78 team. Congrats to him and the team! They earned it with one heck of a dream season, and Lord knows, he and his family have been through a lot.

Now...if SHR could somehow just come to their senses and switch back to Chevy next year. They left one year too early...that new Camaro is going to show up in Daytona loaded for bear after a down year in the SS's finale. ;)
