NASCAR 2016 season

So I had to listen to the race today via the MRN app on my phone
(FS1 isnt in my cable package that I get and Dish doesnt have Fox Sports Go....otherwise I could use a relatives login for it)

It was different (I have listened to the radio feed before but that was usually for an hour or so when out doing stuff. This was pretty much the whole race) but was refreshing compared to Mike, DW and Gordon. :)
They call the race....and there are multiple people who call it (from various spots on the track) and they dont "dumb it down" like they can on TV

I agree, I have listened to the MRN for years now when I'm away from the TV, I enjoy it.

That said, I am enjoying Gordons call of the race as well as he's explaining things that some others don't.

The only times I've listened to MRN (or PRN) was when I would drive from Minneapolis up to the lake. Minneapolis does not have an affiliate (they did last year then they switched it from sports to old rap/hip hop) but there was one in St Cloud (60 miles away) that would usually be listenable during the day all the way to the lake house

The year that Jr won Michigan after having that real long drought (140 races or something like that) I think the only reason we got to see the last couple laps on TV was because we were listening to it on the radio......and yeah going way over the speed limit....trying to get to the lake house to see the last little bit. :)

Funny how listening to the race makes you drive faster !

I take it you don't have SiriusXm ?

no. I did years ago but got rid of it when it got too expensive. Now with everything able to be streamed on a phone I can do it that way
My dad has XM in his truck (factory stereo) and I dont know if he could get "best of sirius" (or whatever its called) on it....but he's too cheap to add it even if he could. He had it for 3 months free when he got his truck 6 years ago, then every year when it comes for renewal he calls and gets a deal. He had the $5 a month for 6 months for probably 4 years. I don't know what he pays now.

But just like his satellite, he pays all that money and he listens to like 4 stations
60's on 6
Prime Country
Classic Vinyl
and every now and then the 70s on 7 or Outlaw Country

The Shrub wins again. First time at Martinsville.

I wish NASCAR would figure out what that team is doing, and rewrite the rules...
What? No way. There are drivers all the time that have some great luck and are also great drivers. Why punish them because they are good?

42 cars for Xfinity including....

Chase Elliott is in the #5 for JR Motorsports (part time team)
Kyle Busch is back in the #18;
Dale Earnhardt Jr will be in the #88

I get frustrated when it's a one man show. But he is good. I'd like to see him do a few laps in some of the less sucessful cars to see how they'd do.

He's been there already ....
He was with Hendricks before Jr came over, I don't remember it all that much, he must not have done too much, Ric let him go.

Part of what frustrates me about him is the media always making him sound so great ... Oh man, he can sweep the weekend ... Yippie, he went out and ran against the Truck guys and won, or about 5 guys in the Nationwide series ... and when he wins they always add those wins into his record when talking about the Sprint Cup series ... thats not right, they don't add the other guys wins from other series.

Also, when he's in the winners circle he acts soooo arrogant, like no one else has ever won before.
He has no respect for the rest of the guys, if he's not having a good day, he'll often go out and wreak guys because hes bored.

His driving was never the issue. Rick had it with his smartass attitude and citations...
