NASCAR 2013 season

That's a double whammy right there,disappointing car on disappointing tracks.Little wonder they are snooze fests.Nascar should count their blessings that they got such a big deal from NBC,it may be the last one they get.

You may be correct. Drastic changes are needed. Unless there is a time zone issue, all races should start at 1pm....And one pet peeve I have with NASCAR. They are late starting EVERY race..If NASCAR publishes a start time of 18 mins past the hour, then start the damned thing at 18 mins past the hour.
Yesterday's race was tabbed for 3:17 pm...It started 15 mins late.

Unless there is a time zone issue, all races should start at 1pm....

they do (except for the chase)
East coast races start at 1PM local time
West coast races start at 1PM local time

Texas I think is the oddball and starts at 3 local time

Been getting ads for the Tropicana in Vegas, they are hosting "Champions Week" the 1st thru the 5th ... Supposed to have cars, racers etc.

Jeff Burton going to drive a few races for MWR next season and then be on the NBC tv team in 2015. I will miss him at RCR, but at least he will be out there. I think he will be a great addition to race commentating, he knows his stuff and will tell it like it is.

Wow, I figured he'd get a full time ride somewhere this year, didn't know he was basically retiring.
Hell, Mark Martin may race more than he does this year.

Always liked Burton and Martin as well.

However, if they get away from the stupid Toyotas, they may run a whole lot better.

Thanks, I hadn't heard that, but thats my fault as I didn't follow it all that closely this year and when the College football gets going along with the NFL, well, something gets lost.

Well its official....the #3 is back

Austin Dillon, a champion in both the NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, will compete full-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series beginning in 2014 driving for Richard Childress Racing. Dillon joins Paul Menard, who will drive the #27 Menards Chevrolet with crew chief "Slugger" Labbe, and Ryan Newman, who will drive the #31 Caterpillar/Quicken Loans/Wix Filters Chevrolet with crew chief Luke Lambert, as full-time Sprint Cup Series drivers under the RCR banner in 2014. The Welcome, N.C., organization has invested significant resources in its competition and engineering departments to prepare for the 2014 season. Many of these changes were spearheaded by the additions of Dr. Eric Warren (director of competition) and Mark McCardle (director of racing operations) to the organization, along with the recent addition of Mike Coughlan (technical director).
Dillon's program will be led by crew chief Gil Martin, a 13-year veteran of the organization who led Kevin Harvick to six chase berths. It also marks the highly anticipated return of the #3 to Sprint Cup Series competition. Dow (supposedly the primary for 16 races) and General Mills' Cheerios brand will be the primary brands featured on the #3 Chevrolet SS throughout the season.

Labonte is a "free agent"
Burton is running a couple races for Mikey Waltrip in the 66 (formerly 56) then is going into the booth for NBC in 2015. Mikey running the 66 for Daytona
