Forget courtside! The hottest ticket at the revamped Madison Square Garden will be straight above Spike Lee's head.

Up to a thousand fans will get to sit in premium nosebleed seats on the two sky bridges that will be built five stories above the playing floor as part of the $850 million inside-out reconstruction of the "World's Most Famous Arena."

Supposedly it's directly above the center ice/court. Which begs the gruesome question. What if someone is pushed or falls off the open "sky bridge" and onto the court of play?

What if someone spits or throws something on the court? You know it will happen.

Not only that, if it's directly over the playing surface, how would you be able to see anything??

Why renovate an arena for $850 million when probably not much more than that they could build a whole new one.

MSG would have to buy other properties in the area; demolish them and reconstruct the Arena, and still not have the famous address they currently have. Here, they remodel and improve, and will be ready for the fall seasons, and then charge crazy prices for the events.:D

why not just demolish MSG and build another one?

This is completely insane. The current MSG building was built after tearing down one of NY's architectural gems (the original Penn Station - look it up).

Now, they want to tear down the equally beautiful Farley Post Office, to build another one? Even more ironic, the "new Penn Station" is due to go into the Farley building already (as Moynihan station). Amazing.

Gawd, how I hate the Dolans.
