Mozilla expects more phone makers and more markets to added going forward. The U.S. market will have to wait until 2014, it said.

I have neither seen nor worked with Firefox OS and wonder how it compares to Google's Chrome. I don't know that they will get much traction, it's tough to make any headway against Android and iOS, just ask MS and Blackberry.

I believe their main driver is that they do not have the licensing fees that comes with Android or Windows. Microsoft makes more money on fees from Android licensing than they make on Windows Phones.

Well MS gets an estimated $12 for every Samsung android device shipped. Rumored $15 for HTC, etc. Android is a large % of the market, they make a ton of cash.

To be honest, Firefix Os looks almost DOA to me. Look another HTML5 system with no real native apps.
