The Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Yankees are now the only teams in Major League Baseball without official mascots.

The Dodgers have signed Clayton Kershaw to a 7 year/$215 million contract.

Wow, over $30 million a year!!!

Kershaw has led all of MLB in ERA each of the last three years.

Since 2009 he has the lowest ERA, 2.43, and the most K's, 1106. Both are the best by any Left Handed pitcher over a 5 year period and the best of any starter in his first 5 full seasons.

The three wisest teams in baseball.

Mascots are for minor league teams. Real teams don't need puppets to help the crowd support their team.

That and the Cubbies are always sold out, hardly need a Mascot to get the crowds going ...

That said, theres alot of teams with Mascots already ... Philly and San Diego come to mind ...

This is the first big signing, particular record per year amount, in which there is no criticism of the deal.
